Just remember this fiasco people, when using the excuse ‘the clubs got no money’. They’ve known for over a month about the 17th May lifting the ban on spectators and the club as per usual leave it until the last minute and fcuk it up. #clueless
Ever thought that it may be the Council who are setting the rules to comply with covid restrictions? I would have thought that Widnes would be desperate for any additional income from paying customers.
No general sale for Whitehaven games, season ticket holders only.
Now saying this extends to the first three games.
They say they’ve tried everything. I wish they’d let us know what everything is as plenty of other clubs and venues seem to be doing okay. Why is Widnes so different?
In fairness, how much of this is the club’s doing and how much is the council and local health authority laying down their conditions? Surely we don’t have any more than 1200-1300 ST holders at best?
No point asking the club as they reply to nothing yet they said transparent was what they would be.
The club have made a statement in which there is no mention of the council, just something about findings from a SAG meeting and social distancing in the North and West stands.2500 is still do-able even with only two stands open. And that's the maximum that would want to go.More inside Asda at Christmas.

Frank, read what the club have put in their statement and show me where the club mentions the council? I cannot wait for the next ‘the club has no money’ excuse for the turd we are in! Every other RL club can make arrangements for this apart from the clowns running the big top on Lowerhouse Lane.
If you google what an SAG meeting is, it talks about the event organiser (the club), representatives of the Local Authority, Emergency Services and any other local relevant bodies (Public Health?).
So it is not just the club unilaterally making the decision.
That being said, I agree that it seems a little strange to not even have 2500 of a 13500 stadium open: in any case given the start to the season I would be shocked under normal circumstances if more than 2000 turned up anyway!!
CJ, how come every other club have plans set aside for all eventualities, bar Widnes? The set up is beyond comical. Like someone posted earlier, the other custodians of the club tried to drag in as many people as possible, this shower in charge at the moment look like they don’t want us in!
I'm not saying its being handled well, I'm just saying its not all down to the club for it not being handled that well.
No one can say it’s not being handled well. The council will be losing out too don’t forget. I just cannot see how every other club can arrange something apart from Widnes!

No matter what the club are the ones who need to communicate. That’s who we have business with.
They seem extremely defensive on this one when being asked simple questions
What would be 50% of the West & North Stands? Anyone know?
Obviously the South Stand is for players & officials, press etc. I'd imagine it will be zero hospitality. The Elton John Stand must be, as per rumour, so out of action.

A friend of mine has just come up with a cracking question that he has emailed to the club. He change jobs and now works shifts, he was a season ticket holder, but gave the club his season ticket money back, as it was pointless getting a season ticket this year due to playing every other Sunday, so he planned on paying to watch them when his shifts allow, he also pays £15 a month to VIQI. So now he’s screwed because it’s only season ticket holders only allowed in. So now, his VIQI has been cancelled. Like I said, he’s emailed the club, let’s see if they can be arsed answering it!
I do think they have to be very careful about how they communicate : many here and beyond will have donated to the crowdfunder, joined VIQI, donated back last year, bought shirts and season tickets again this year.
Loyalty should be a two way street.....

"Working alongside Halton Borough Council we have been able to ensure that a safe return for supporters is able to take place, in line with government guidelines and social distancing rules." Will that do?
100% should be a 2 way street. I will let you all know if he gets a response off the club. I’m highly doubtful he will though!
