Don't get why he finally has 3 props and has them all on the bench, with Tilleke only playing 7 or 8 minutes.

Not very convinced with SF but I think it is unlikely that the club would sack him at the end of the season unless we were relegated (which won't happen).

Whitehaven now have 6 wins. Batley have 10. We have 5. Those who recruited the squad and limited it to such a low number are clearly now in the wrong.

Thought Kenny Baker had a good game yet again and Spedding looked dangerous. If Farnworth, Tilleke and Clough are all fit next week, one has to start and have Grady in the back row with Lawton.

I think we are nearing the stage where we should be looking at preparation and tactics which both lie at the coaches role.

on paper with the players we have we should be competing and winning more games than we are losing.

maybe it is time for change to give an incoming coach time to prepare for next season.

Attendance was not announced but can’t have been any more than 2,000.

as has been said the match day experience is dour. It’s like aritual. about as much atmosphere as a funeral. Just going out of habit, to be disappointed time and time again

As I said earlier, season is now over, there is no way we will make top 6, also not relegated

time to rethink and get ready for next season

We will have probably have the biggest fan base in the league, and with VIQI we should be best paced, Toulouse will be gone, so we should be right up there

Will order my season tickets as soon as announced

onwards and upwards

My take on that today, for what its worth.

We Dominated field position and possession in the first half but struggled to break down Batley, given how the first half went we should have been clearer on the scoreboard. We were making good contact in D and restricted Batley, but our attack still struggles, we rarely get a quick PTB and our spread plays are laboured and the man generally takes the ball too deep giving the defence chance to shift.

Second half the boot was on the other foot and our weaknesses were exposed, once they started running at our middles with anything other than a prop we looked in trouble. Conceded some very poor tries that most u13s coaches would be furious to see. Selection is crazy, other posters have mentioned it but the whole use of our bench is a mess, and we looked dead on our feet in the last 20, Body language was of a team that had nothing left. Our Line defence was absolutely shocking.

Lawton for me is a lost cause, he is like flipping a coin where heads you get good Adam, and Tails you get Adam who you wouldnt let play if you were messing about in a park. He rarely makes big hits, constantly loses contact and always goes for the steal instead of doing his damn job, Only comes alive near the try line. I would rather run a Ball in at Lawton than Craven, because craven will put a shot on me, Adam Will try his hardest not to need to go to the floor. He just goes missing in the tough games, he should be amazing at this level, but he isnt.

Lyons, not good enough im afraid. The lad tries but he is not of the required standard for this level seen Widnes churn out too many players of this standard and play them for too long because they are locally produced.

We need a root and Branch review of how we recruit, who does the recruiting and our entire coaching set up.

This team is not a play off quality team, too many weaknesses, Lack of conditioning and a Coach that looks to be making lots of mistakes. We need to accept it for what it is and try to limit the damage to our support base between now and the end of the season.

Still it was good to get back to watching the team. Shame about the result/2nd half performance

Some absolute banging comments on here today!😂

One guy says we should be ripping the league up with our squad, whilst another questions the whole recruitment policy! Meanwhile, the match day experience just isn’t good enough.

And there I was, just pleased to see a team on the pitch having been through administration and a pandemic!

He did ok, as did Hulme looking like he knew the team play whereas Roden was pretty 'new'. Problem was our pack, not for the first time, were out energised. We looked as if we had had a break and not seen each other for a month.

Simply not good enough, shaken off the tackle more times than I can remember, looked very poor tbh.

6-28 in the Second Half, at least we weren't nilled this time! Small mercies and all that....

So to my memory, that's 0-14 at Newcastle, 0-38 v Batley (a), 0-27 v York, 0-11 v Halifax too.

What is it with us and second half's seriously?

Fitness? Desire? Quality?

That second half was embarrasing.

first contact was soft as crunchie at least 2 of their tries came from poor first contact and their player just bouncing off.

We are missing size in the pack. We all know it! Come the second half our backs are pretty beat up and that’s where the gaps are easy to find.

I just hope this announcement tomorrow is a big, nasty prop. If not, I hope attending fans make our feelings known!

Did I see Phil Finney there on the bench? If so why?

No I am sure that Finney was sat on the fence as usual.
