Presumably our remaining signings, if any, will be ready this week!

Just get a couple of old headed props in and we will be ready for probably the first full length, full squad, Widnes pre-season for some time.

Not that I have heard. Whatever it is we have the best chance for years of getting the full squad on line and really making a start to the season. So many times we have been still looking for quite a chunk of our squad when pre-season should have started.

There were a few comments from our new acquisitions looking forward to training in our great facilities, which is encouraging at least. Being fully fit and ready to go makes a big difference fending off injuries. Saints are a prime example of that!

I would like the club to now announce all the signings to date not yet disclosed all released at once.

They should then put the season tickets up for sale. If they leave it any longer the money in some cases may well be allocated elsewhere.

Finnegan said in the last podcast with flash that players will be back in at the end of this month

The delay leads you to think that Brown was the last tbh.

We may be waiting for the spare ex SL players who are hoping for a new berth have decided where to go. Some will appear no doubt, hopefully props!!!

If that's the case we're going to be struggling again next season

I would still expect Brad Holroyd to sign given that all the other players leaked in the MEN have. We are probably just letting the dust settle after Workington's win on Sunday. Maybe then the rest of the players added will come from last season's squad though am still hoping for at lesat one more effective prop to sign.

Maybe the Holroyd signing was on condition that Workington wouldn't be promoted.I don't know, just a possibility.

Still plenty of time, let's not forget it must be a good 8-10 weeks since the Brown and Holroyd signings were mooted and we only signed Brown last week.

Plus, it's taking the shine off the Workington Promotion a bit if the next day you are saying their best back is going!

There will be more signings. Both retention and new ones, there has to be because we won't be going in with a 20/21 man squad, that's for sure.

The club said in a recent article we have a number of signings still to be announced.

Yes, it wasn’t clear to me whether those are new players coming in or retentions from the current squad.

Going back to Simon's podcast he said a squad of 27/28 was the aim, so plenty of time yet. ST 's are probsbly being held back until things are finalised.

We could possibly survive without Holroyd, but props are the key to our pack leading. Looking at our pack already the pace of Dupree  at his weight, with pacy second rows too  gives you heart that we are at a turning point.

I’d like to think that if we can turn up regularly with Lawton, Dupree and Nzoungou in the 17 then opposition defences are going to have to work pretty hard to stop us getting on a roll.

Plenty to be optimistic about but when you look at Fev's old world tactics against Toulouse, probably in Bradford's play book too, you need an old dog or two.

See that some SL clubs are not happy with Toulouse being promoted!!
