Just before the final whistle, Barrow's No 12 was having a right go at the south stand TJ, then continued at the referee when the game was over.
Anyone any idea what this was about?
Our next game is in 22 days time, going to Benidorm and missing today's game couldn't be worse timing to be honest. At least we won it anyway.
He was absolutely furious and kept pointing to his head, but I didn't see anything. But I can't blame him because I have no faith in touch judges either. They fail to call obvious forward passes and off sides at play the ball.
It's a tough job and we wouldn't have a game without them, but that's no excuse for not doing the job properly.
It’s hard to summarise us, for me.
On one hand you can’t moan where we are in the league and the majority of results, but on the other hand we are so dull and boring to watch.
Genuinely enjoyed watching us more last season when we were rubbish.
Got no creativity in us whatsoever

Last season we were all the things you bemoan about this season, lacked creativity, dull, boring and for good measure didn't look like we gave a damn.
What was it that you genuinely enjoyed more?
Enjoyed watching WV last season omg!!😭 😭
It was a win, so I am grateful for that, didn't think it was particularly easy on the eye and as many have said not much in the way of creative spark.
Jack showed a few nice touches and Danny got over for his try well enough, but we are generally so pedestrian, standing still when receiving, telegraphing the laboriously slow inside ball to a player barely at jogging pace.
Although Sammut was way off his best, there was always a sense of anticipation (or concern!) when he had the ball.
We were at home against a struggling side, we should have been able to "strut our stuff" better than that. OK I accept we have to lay the platform, but we had loads of possession in their 20, scored, when we put the ball through the hands, failed to score when numerous players tried to barge over (ironically it was Craven, one of our smallest players who forced his way over, admittedly with a bit of guile).
Not sure this stuff will bring the crowds back!

The other teams were better?
@wirralviking I agree with a lot of what you say but to say we "should have strutted our stuff more" by which I interpret we should have won by a lot more points I have to differ, because although Barrow are next to the bottom in the table their points difference is only minus 75. After 9 games that averages out to a just over 8 points defeat per game so our win by 9 is fairly equal to their average points defeat.
I also get frustrated about our lack of creativity & we are still badly needing a scrum half to remedy this.
However I am enjoying this season much better than the last few as we have a stronger squad & are more organised & together as a team especially on defence & are winning more games.
I think people have forgotten even in the 1970s when we were winning trophies we ground out an awful lot of wins. The open entertaining rugby only came in the 1980s.
@geoffw The team of the 70s did grind out many a win but there was plenty of entertaining rugby as well.Battering Saints on Easter Monday 78 is one of the best ever displays from a Widnes team in memory.
The three week break will, hopefully,do us a world of good.A good chance for players to recover from injury niggles and Gilmore and Millar will be three weeks closer to a return, without a game being played.
I listened on the radio and I got the impression we played a more cautious game. I like the open play stuff but we tend to overplay and cough up the ball on 2nd or 3rd tackle, I think this season is more about finishing in the playoffs, I don’t think we will win the playoffs but it’s a step in the right direction and may attract some better players. I know the pitch doesn’t help but super league teams don’t want to send out players on loan to losing teams. I think Eckersley is going well and I can see a to seasons end loan for him as I doubt he will make the 1st team and he seems to be getting good minutes and enjoying his rugby here. Maybe that’s why the hooker left last season as he wasn’t enjoying playing in a losing side and Wigan want to produce winning mentality players
I have watched them over 50 years and if Kear is in charge next season I will not attend anymore I am bored to fudging death of the boring dross served up. Would rather get beat in an entertaining game than win with boring crap against a bottom three team Geoff you really need to look for the trees as defending them against Barrows points diff has be be the worst comment ever on this forum.
Although it wasn’t very entertaining, I think the majority of fans would think the most important thing is to win the game, rather than play entertainingly and lose. I can’t see many people applauding the team and getting more fans at the matches if we play entertaining rugby and lose and finish in a relegation battle.
Of course if we can entertain and win , that would be even better
@dan1 unfortunately , he’s back. Misses a game for his club , but god forbid he misses a tv game ! 👍🏻
