If Belshaw continues to get a result against Keighley I would give him the job to the end of the season if he wants it. If things continue to go well consider him alongside other applicants then.

Where has he come from does anyone know? Was he an assistant to Kear? Did Kear bring him along?

Let’s not rush things with the new coach, even if he wins a few more game till the end of the season. We don’t want an Ole Solkjaer style of appointment, otherwise we will be back to square one in 6 months time.

@a-cape agreed. Reactionary performances and giving players a bit of confidence back to try and play with backs against the wall is one thing

entrusting him with a budget and a new squad pre season and the expectancy that, rightly or wrongly, comes with being at this club is a whole other level

Not sure who he is but know they played better rugby in Toulouse, only heard last night on radio, Merseyside commentators were full of how good the Bradford side were

and seems like we actually played a structured game - Gilmore pulling the strings

Bradford had a poor game, we had an improved performance and hopefully we can build on it

KB on Viaplay suggested DB as new coach.

we must not go back down this route, in hindsight we had it ok with Denis in the end but a lot of apathy in the town is linked to him albeit right or wrong.

I actually would listen to what KB says. He is a good reader of the game and "knows his stuff", seems to still hold us in high regard, has no axe to grind and wouldn't suggest something he doesn't believe.

If DB has applied for the job, he must be given serious consideration despite the adverse views of some supporters.

@sunny

I guess that nobody really knows what was going on under Rule, how much say DB had, or how his choices were treated. Then DB wasn't Coach at Newcastle but had a wider remit.

Joe Coan was a teacher and coached a very successful Saints side!!

At the end of the day coaching demands all the skills of a teacher and if the reaction is anything to go by Belshaw has some of those skills!!!

I think the club will stick with belshaw for the rest of the season, see how he does.
CH probably looking at recruiting then.
I’d look at Louis Brogan at swinton, be an improvement over Bent imo

Whoever is going to be coach for the rest of the season needs to be the coach for next year to have the input on signing/retaining players otherwise whats the point ?. According to people on here Hamilton was brought in as an organiser and has nothing to do with the playing side yet he is now recruiting. We have seen this for the last god knows how many years with coaches not either selecting players then have the get out clause of it's not my team. We need to hire somebody ASAP and give him the full reins now and for next year at least. The players are slowly been told if they have a contract for next year by somebody who is not fit to judge them with no input from a coach. They would be better asking the fans to vote on facebook on whom to keep as they are just as qualified.
