@hans-moleman give the man a bit of leeway it’s not his fault that the shitshow the players produce come directly from him given he’s been in charge for 3 games (featherstone being a defeat under any manager don’t care who it is) getting a good result against Whitehaven but today the players had no will, desire or passion after the first 10 mins so don’t start pointing the finger at a man who is stepping in

It’s farcical we haven’t and are not even close to appointing a new coach.

A failure of management.

A replica of the Barrow game.An early 12-0 lead, allow them back into before half time, well beaten second half followed by a late try or two to make it look respectable.Same result, same score.Only Widnes could do that in two televised games.A casual viewer must have thought they were watching a repeat.

@viking25 Saw something last night where it was said we were midway through the recruitment process! Appreciate we want to make the right decision but we are a month on follow Finnigan going.

Very disappointing last night, the first 10 minutes looked like a continuation of the Whitehaven match going 12-0 up, but then a couple of bad decisions and a couple of mistakes and we were behind and playing rubbish again. Ryan OB didn’t do his application to be the new coach any favours, instead of a good team talk at halftime and coming back from just 2 points behind, we played even worse in the second half, until we suddenly started playing again in the last 10 minutes when it was too late. He must have watched Dennis Betts half time team talks!!

To make things worse the M1/M62 junction was closed and to carry on going up the M1where the diversion signs disappeared and I had to guess which way to go. Then I was dropping my mate off in Halifax and the road to Halifax from the motorway was also closed and another diversion both ways. Finally got home at 12-15😡

It is shocking how brittle we are in defence through the middle of the park. Likewise, it is shocking how our pack seems unable to make metres in attack. Our interim coach even seems to have managed to coach the enthusiasm out of Doro.

Let's hope that last week was not a false dawn , but we are desperate for an experienced coach to try and finish the season with the players at least looking like they know which way to run.

@griffin1 we are brittle as our pack gets rolled nearly every game no props no size takes it toll nearly every game we lose the yardage battle and end up constantly defending our own line no team can prosper doing that

I think it's already apparent that last week was a false dawn.

The players seem fed up. The interim coach seems fed up. The staff seem fed up. The directors look fed up. Fans are more than fed up. Just what is going to be done to turn things around?

Getting routinely beaten by Championship teams now. Whatever criticisms are made of the recruitment, the squad that Widnes have should be competing more than they are.

The frustrating thing is it seems to be the same issues and themes week in, week out.

We can only hope that a coach will come in and shake it up - though judging by the comments about the recruitment process, I won't hold my breath. To sack your coach and then a month later still not be in a position to announcement a replacement is mind-boggling.

Season will be over if we lose either one of the two games over Jubilee weekend - given the coach was sacked Apr 26, there was a free hit against Fev, and then there's been two weekends off (either side of the Whitehaven/Sheffield game), there was ample opportunity to get someone in and up to speed.

Exactly this. They need a coach in asap preferably before the next game.

We need to change the culture of this club from a losing mentality to a winning one. Fans are really fed up and action and attitude needs to change. Some of these players need some hot cheerleaders before a game and if can't perform in front of them it a loser team. Lost my French passion and sex drive watching Widnes. 😂😝👍🥖🥖🥖

It's not a difficult concept to grasp

Every successful club in any sport goes after the person they want to take their club forward, they don't sit around waiting to see who fancies having a go

The board must still think it's 1989 and all the good people want to come here, well it's not

Despite what some people think I still believe the club has potential, there are 6 clubs in SL that we are more than capable of equalling and bettering

The board should be identifying the best coach we can afford and selling the potential and the club to them, allowing them the freedom to help rebuild the club up from bottom to top with no interference from anyone else at the club

If they want to make a statement of intent then it needs to be in the next appointment of a top class coach

You're right, I said it weeks ago and surprise surprise the happy clappers didn't agree. The club gives off the impression they are run along similar lines to Captain Mainwaring & Dads Army

If its any consolation I came back on the Snake Pass, got to Lady Bower reservoir and they'd shut it. Had to divert via Castleton and then to the A6 at Chapel en le Frith. Got on the Eastern Manchester bypass to the Airport but couldn't get on the M56 Westbound because they'd shut it down. Had to loop round past the Trafford Centre to the M62 finally getting home at 11:30pm.
