@geoffw He looked good in spells made a good few runs and looked nippy but probably overlooked due to 2nd half team-performance.
I think the turning point came when we did a good up and under and got to it first and knocked it back , we then picked the ball up and scored, only for ref to disallow saying we knocked on, but he was wrong. That would have put us 23- 12 in front with about 15-20 minutes remaining .
The Referee was from Widnes, so make of that what you will.

Yes I know.Marcus Griffis. Some fans near us, shouted to him, while he was close to the touch line , you don’t have to bend over backwards to help Sheffield to prove your not biased. He turned round and laughed at them.
Any idea why we had a SL ref in charge? It’s quite unusual.
Always easy to blame the referee, no one was complaining in the first half when he gave us most of the decisions. I personally thought that going for for the two from the sin bin penalty was a mistake. That's when I'd have liked us to be bold and aggressive and try to turn the screw.

Just watched the Sheff highlights. I am convinced their try to go 22-21 up was held up and so was Danny langtree 🤣
That try swung the momentum back to Sheff as that would have been a last tackle handover
either way it is what it is Sheffield are second and it was as expected a back and forth affair where they got the better of us that’s sport at the end of the day.

I have just watched the highlights and I know hard to judge fully on this, but a lot of falling off tackles. Number 19 Fleming? Jack Owdns too but it seems we need more players to reenergise the team. Langers and Gregson are a start. Field, Edge, Ince and Reilly be nice to have back soon. Personally I think back to the drawing board and back to winning on Sunday. 👌
@scouseviking55 just seen the highlights myself and from the video it’s looks very much like Owen’s was under that ball and it was never grounded! However on the day I just don’t think we was good enough to get the win.
Disappointing they don’t show Widnes’s disallowed try, to see which team knocked on. That was a game changing decision.
Don’t really like to blame the ref when we lose I will moan about them as it’s the easy option but at the end of the day it’s about the players on the pitch who determine the result however after watching the game back and seeing the 2 yellow cards we received I think we have been very very hard done by as there was little to no contact at all and they certainly didn’t deserve yellow cards! Mike Butt was nearly dropped on his head and the ref just waived play on. Very very frustrating
