That’s it really in a nutshell. At home to a mid table championship side (based on early results anyway) and not a single Widnes fan that I know or anyone posting on this thread believes we can win. I’m just looking for a performance that suggests we are good enough to stay up at the moment.

It really is desperate at the minute being a Widnes fan. There is absolutely nothing whatsoever to be positive about.

I wouldn't even attempt to guess at what'll happen when you mob and York meet!

I reckon our two worst performances this term were at home to the Minster Men, and then at your gaff, when we (deservedly) got stuffed in both.

Neither side had won until Swinton were in front of 'em, but both had broke their duck long before the hooter!

Spelly.

I've gone for the Knights on the Prediction League, but not with the greatest of confidence!

<p style="text-align: left;">

People talking about us not affording to sack him. Maybe not. And I think it, despite the dire season so far, is too early and he probably deserves at least another month. But it may come to the point where we can’t afford not to sack him if things continue…..

Who knows what's written in the contract, maybe there are some stipulations.You'd need to be quite naive to give a cast iron 2 year contract to a rookie coach without some conditions regarding performance.Two wins at this stage and a reasonable for/ against points difference wasn't asking too much from the outset.If the club haven't put such things into the agreement then more fool them.

Got to look at taking some positives out of the game.I'd settle for 6-28 or thereabouts.

Well Whitehaven should lose to Toulouse, Oldham to Featherstone and Swinton play Dewsbury who beat us.

We would therefore go into the games v Whitehaven and Oldham within striking distance at both.

It is imperative that we put some level of performance in to build to those crucial matches.

For me that means being in the game for a good hour.

I can't believe I have just typed about staying with striking distance of Oldham and Whitehaven!!

On the flip side, if we beat York, we could feasibly be in the play-off places!

Shows that if we do somehow manage to get a grip that there is not a lot to fear in this league outside the likes of Toulouse and Featherstone.

I cant see us getting the points today ,  expect another defeat and its just a question of can we keep the score down below a 24 point defeat .
