It would be nice to think that some announcements have been delayed because new recruits are playing for either Toulouse or London today. OK wildly optimistic on my part I know, although a certain Wellington Albert was linked with a move back, so you never know!
Albert, not too bad but does not control possession, now London are SL abound he will be released for sure
Also watch the Toulouse situation, big contracts and no result - will the man invest for another year ?
losing money week on week with poor attendances at the stadium
back to the French league - big fish in smaller pond ?
@ditton-donkey
As you say - not bad, but!!!! How many coaches have tried to get more out of him and pretty much failed?
He looks fearsome, just as he did for us, but not putting enough into the game to be worth a lot tbh.
He adds weight and AC might have the answer if we sign him!
really? another has been...? we are desperate...like a drowing man clinging onto the rocks...some belting amateur players out there maybe raid them...if the coach is gonna be that good at lease they will play for a pint and a fiver..
Presumably London will now need (the best part of) a completely new squad of players so, are there any in their current squad that might be looking for a p/t gig in the NW?
I’m getting a bit naffed off waiting for these great signings. Every day they tell me to look at 7pm and everyday I’m increasingly underwhelmed.
We had looked forward to a new spine of the team, now looking unlikely. We had hoped for some strong new forwards, but now feels like we are at the back of the queue. Christ, we hoped for something new, something fresh, SOME HOPE, but we see mediocre players getting 2yr extensions.
Wonder how ST sales are going…..
John Davies from fev, he’s been released by them and is a proper championship forward, rough and gets in your face. Always plays well against us yet obviously Widnes won’t sign him and he’ll come back to haunt us haha typical.
All comments on Twitter gutted to see him go… would be a real good signing
He won’t come here. He’s based in Yorkshire and wouldn’t get the wage to justify the travel.
It’s not that far, an hour and a quarter 3 times a week.
@winny-ingram Liam Kirk will be doing it… Whitehaven just signed a player from Australia am sure if the price is right he’d sacrifice an hours drive
If you’re paying a decent wage sportspeople would go anywhere.
Saudi in football is an example, by no way comparable with Yorkshire to Widnes but people will go.
Commentators used to say all the time footballers wouldn’t go North or to none champions league clubs- moneys taken over, doesn’t matter anymore.
The biggest problem, today, to overcome is the people in charge at Widnes
“they do not appreciate the value of free publicity”
They’re literally ignoring it.
No point signing actual players, may aswell hire staff who can generate website clicks or design LED boards. The RL Revolution 2024.
