We don't have the luxury to make 5/6 changes. We have 5 players out injured so the only one that didn't make the 21 last week was Adam Jones. I took Alan Coleman's comments to mean giving players that didn't make the 17 but were named in the 21 against Rochdale a chance.  That would be Lyons at stand off and then Roberts and Bent on the bench. I can't see Brown getting in ahead of Owens at full back in what will be no easy game.

North Wales have Ollie Brookes, Lloyd Roby and Sam Wilde from our squad last season plus other recent Vikings Olly Davies, Jake Spedding and Patrick Ah Van. They will be up for the game and are at home. We should win, but i think they will give us a good game. It would be nice to progress to the last 16 and get a big name side and a bit of publicity/prize money/share of gate receipts.

I would think Bradford (small pitch) Bulls, and Toulouse will be calling the shots in the middle tier next term, with Fev and York not far behind 'em, so.......

Top four might be a bit of a push for you.

As for next week in Colwyn Bay, I reckon there'll be about a dozen ex-Lions on the park. Plus of course, Coleman and Wood calling the shots off it!

Spelly.

@mckviking

think London are in a transitional period - only 12 contracted players for the google game, I know there are noises about Australian investment (. From the broncos again ?)

haven’t looked into the Toulouse signings but their investment from Toulouse authority was reduced.

again bradford not read up on but from what’s been posted on here appear to have found a money tree.

we should be competitive this season depending as usual on injuries and whether patten can keep his cool.

Just had a Quick Look and Toulouse have 2 additions and a youngster signed up so should be up there.

bradford are in the SL reserves and academy leagues, taking Catalans place which would indicate strength in depth

Alan Coleman said last night that he thinks Bradford and Fev will be the favorites to finish top, and that North Wales will finish top of league one comfortably.

He is going to give some players that haven’t played yet a game on Sunday, to see how they play and give them a chance to show him they should be a first choice player. Ince will be fit in 2 weeks and Gregson should start on Sunday.

I hope we give Bradford a good hiding if only to wipe the smug face of that rent a gob on social media.

Toulouse have added 4 ...Joe cator after loan...Ellis gillam from barrow ..rob butler from London and some random guy out of their systems ..baptiste Rodriguez ...they'll be strong again

So if the gaffers said that then the likelihood is gregson .bent..brown..bailey..Jones ..Lyons and Roberts are all going to play if fit ...that's a worry for me as IMO it'll significantly weaken the match day team while playing against a stronger opposition than Rochdale who we struggled with for a period

Hipe this is the right thread😁

Wakefield are giving 6 million pounds between Wakefield Castleford and Featherstone. Pity Widnes can’t get any help of their council

Are you happy for your council tax to go up to pay for it? Do you think everyone else in Halton is?

Should have put Wakefield Council down not Wakefield.

@gpo1971 I know Widnes Vikings isn’t as big a name as it was, but I still think it’s the most recognizable name in the town of Widnes.
Perhaps if they cut down on councilors expenses, they would have more money to spend, especially some of the top earners at the council.

And wasn’t there something in the news a couple of weeks ago about how we are one of the biggest over spending councils on childcare?

All councils massively overspend on children's social care. It's because there is no social care act in place and successive governments keep ignoring the problem because it's too difficult and expensive. In the short-term that means that private care agencies have councils over a barrel when it comes to caring for SEND kids, charging extortionate amounts for care knowing that councils have no alternative.

Long story short, I guess it would mean that Widnes Vikings is well down the list of priority items to sort for HBC. As it should be to be honest.

Sorry for me I don’t think gregson adds anything to the team, bent - yes he is a tackling machine, brown - unknown, Bailey similar, Lyons can do the job and roberts is ok

but to me if they all are in the starting 17 it is significantly weakened and the crusaders will be a harder gig than Rochdale
