@vikingfox71 yeah I just seen that m, well I don’t blame him wanting to get a 3 year contract of full time wages. I wonder who kear has in mind.

We need some creativity and pace above anything else.

I feel the pack will take care of itself, but it's the lack of fluid attacking play which is a big problem.

Dixon has definitely got pace.

I wonder whether with JK being around the World Cup, we may be able to snaffle a talent or two from there...

The biggest factor is the FT/PT trap. Many like Roberts are SL hopefuls and are FT contracted. Some of our lads must be looking that way. Just when we will be able to finance it is the question and hinges on whatever changes the RFL/SL are going to make and when!

Those of our lads who already are relatively 'senior' and have jobs/careers could be retained in a mixed playing staff.

I would be looking at Smeegs as Assistant Coach (he apparently has aspirations in that area). He could be registered as a player for emergency use but a spell with JK would be a great start for him in his second career and he looks like he has the confidence of the team. It all fits with the off-pitch recruitment.

I’d say fullback is covered with Owens/roby/Fleming can all cover

wings, Ince , Dixon, Brooke’s spedding edge

centres, tyrer, Edge, Fleming, maybe another  big centre

6&7 I’d like to see another signing in this position as I feel smith will retire at seasons end with craven starting at 6 and Lyons as cover

hooker, I’d like to see another hooker to partner fozzard with Hulme reserve

prop, amor, doro, farnworth, Grady, Lawton, baker can cover

second row, Wilde, bent, Lawton with another 2 or 3 quality players in this position

13, bent and baker should be enough unless we can find quality within our budget

There's also Johnson and Ngoungou as props, thus not reducing the quality of the props if Lawton and Baker are played elsewhere as you suggest. Grady could then be considered as second row.

I think Hulme has played well enough to be second hooker. Maybe Lyons could cover 9, 6 and 7.

Perhaps Roberts as the "big centre" you mention.

Gilmore would actually be a decent fit at 7.

Of course it all depends on Kear, us being able to sign the loanees and our bank balance...

@sunny I think roberts is likely to be signed by a super league club or whoever comes down but hopefully he enjoys playing under kear and will go another season as part time

I don’t know how likely the jj rumor is but would be a great addition for hooker

mid let levy go at seasons end just not worth paying for a body in the stands, will Johnson sign or be looking for full time

@mckeeverviking

I am referring to Josh Johnson the prop, not JJ the hooker.

With rumours of Jordan Johnstone signing it was interested to see him and Tom Gilmore at the match on Sunday.

Wells and or Addy from Salford.. both had a game for us this year and were our standout players in the game.. I'd be looking to get maybe one of them

No thank you on Levy the guy is a crock and we don't need passengers again. Gilmore would be good and Jordan Johnson who my mate noticed at the game. I will be banging my baguettes at Batley. 🥖🥖🥖🥖

Pascal I love and admire your passion, and your baguettes are something to behold

however with regard to your fellow Frenchman, how can you dismiss him before he has even performed ?
he could be the best yet
