On his day he is one of the best on the pitch. Sadly the last 2 seasons he’s really dropped form and doesn’t have a running threat we need from fullback anymore, I personally think he’s good enough to be in the squad but don’t think he’s good enough to be fullback now, Yesterday he was flat ran players out the game and chose some poor attacking play options. What’s everyone else’s opinions on this? Where could we play him instead of fullback?

In real terms, it was his first game of the season. He was always going to need that game to blow off the cobwebs. Let's be honest, the only thing it cost us was a potential hammering against a SL club, we will not get to Wembley in the CC. It's more important to have the squad ready for next week v Barrow, than earn another game we don't need.

Personally I haven't been a fan of Tubbs for the last few years. Too slow and not very affective. Prefer Roby or Dixon to play in this position. Not a big fan of Lyons,so possibly Roby at 6? Squad player only for me Jack Owens a bit like Lyons.

Jack doesn't have any other natural position besides full back but he's too slow for that role now.Time waits for nobody. He never was the quickest in his prime.

Think the future is Dixon fb and maybe Roby in the halves, I feel Jack will only be a back up player

Interesting after all the comments made against Jack earlier this year, I am glad to see that he has got the player of the months and is mentioned by most people as a top performer in the games he's played in.

@robbo I think everyone who commented on jacks performance will be glad to see he’s had a good few games, hopefully he can keep that up. Thats all we want from this squad to play well!😂

I don't think any genuine Widnes fan wants any player to fail. Jack was not playing so well probably due to injuries and being coached badly in the past. Even Joe Lyons has improved a lot under this coach which shows how important a coach and training team is at a club. Plus there seems to be more togetherness and hard team work to support each other to improve. We are definitely improving under Coleman, and to get to the next level we probably need a strike centre and another halfback. If Gilmore or Lyons gets injured cover is required , but one thing with Lyons I have noted a very durable player. Well done Jack hope it continues. 💪👍👊
