We had two forwards playing as half backs against us in one away game this year and they cut us to pieces - not big names just totally committed.
Watching the montages of Widnes tries on YouTube and remembering just what we had in the eighties made me think. There hasn't been a side in SL that could throw the ball about like that since. But that is where we, as Widnes supporters, set our standard tbh. We aren't likely to get another side like that for years, if ever.
Maybe we need to look at things in a new light and go for a team that simply plays as a team and see how we go? Teams like Batley can become hard to beat by simply playing hard and we should match that.
It does seem a bit premature to be writing off Farnworth and it is a shame.But as already mentioned he has made too few appearances in his six years here.I know he was more consistent in the second half of 2023 but perhaps the decision was made by then.As an aside the Vikings Twitter announced Owen as leaving his home town club!

Craven 2 year deal to Oldham is now on their official website. It's the only Widnes player officially announced so far. Also Hatton to Keighley was officially announced by them last week.

Announcing re-signings one-by-one is painful - given that we all know they've re-signed as they weren't part of the "players who are leaving" list!
