Interesting squad with Gilmore and Fleming in there

I hope Connell starts at fb and I suspect with butt out, edge will be on the wing  with Jack and Sambou in centres

Hb - interesting - is Tom fit ?
Forwards surely Murray, JJ, chapelhow

then the fun starts !
mine would be Wilde, roberts and mcwhirter

with subs

fozzy,Lawton,houghton / bibby and hall

Connell must start at full back.

Along with Gilmore Lawton is also in the squad but will they play ?

I am surprised Houghton has not been retained. I thought he did ok last week & is a biggish unit & deserved another run.

I fear Gregson will be in at 13 instead of Mc Whirter who will probably once again be used as a prop.

IMHO we shouldn't be lending players to our competitors. Sadly because there's no Champ1 the only place they can gain game time & experience is in our division (Thank you, The RFL).

The Irony is, MCB's consortium were vetted to allow Salford into the league, when obviously, they haven't sufficient funding & player roster. None of this was afforded to Featherstone.

Personally, I'm not bothered if a few clubs go belly up, as there are still a good few that are not sustainable, and we need a cull to strengthen the Sport. Lots of people will disagree, but that's fine by me.

Paulie xx

I would go with Langtree over Roberts in the back row/back row bench spot. I would also go with McWhirter at 13, however you are right, the fact Houghton doesnt make the 21 leads me to believe McWhirter will be a bench prop with Gregson at 13.

Looking at Crusaders squad, 7 of North Wales starting 13 are ex Widnes. 1.Roby, 2.Brookes, 3.Hatton, 4.Spedding, 6.Patton, 8.Walker and 13.Moran

I don’t think it will be an easy win for us but we should have enough to get the 2 points. I’m assuming on radio coverage on bbc merseyside

Only Hatton would interest me out of them players for Widnes now. I agree would have Langtree over Roberts in the back row.

Let's hope 'gaffer' can improve on his 43% home win record since taking the reins.

A slender lead at HT but a concerning one at the sounds of the radio.

more possession and position but Crusaders sound like the team with more umph and threat about them.

I didn’t think we looked anything great against thatto, even at 70 odd - nil. We still looked slow and ponderous. That crunchie won’t fly in this divison

lets hope for a better second half

It’s not the same listening on the radio but it sounds like NWC are matching us and we only scored when they were down a man

Good to get the win and good to see a crowd back home.

Definitely lots to improve on rugby wise, first half played well but seemed to lack that divisive edge and we really let NWC into the game out of nothing. Second half different story after about 10 minutes we dominated the game and NWC couldn’t match us!

Thought the ref had a real poor game super slow rucks and some very questionable decisions good to see nothing changed there!

on a whole tho we played well good to see abdull controlling the game along with Lawton after he calmed down!

Did I hear the attendance correct 4018. Great start to the season and good win over a very strong Crusaders side. All our new signings played well and hard to pick a motm but well well played everyone. Onwards and upwards👍👍
