Cheers for heads up, what is the best/nearest pub to the ground by the way?

Not just London, but I don’t understand why clubs do this. The ground will be virtually empty.

Agreed, imagine suggesting this in the  management meeting - 'let's sell tickets lads but just not on the day of the game' - oh yes that's a good idea!

So if I drove for 4 hours on Sunday to go to the game and hadn't bought a ticket prior to the day, I wouldn't get in??

Reduces need for cash security on the gates etc. Just how many 'walk-ups' are you talking about these days?

Many don't carry cash these days of tap and go! Maybe that could be an option still, avoiding hard cash.

Correct, which is why I posted here.  We all (London fans) think its madness beyond lunacy, our first game in the new stadium, they are pushing it out on twitter, ads in the London metro etc, and they don't state anywhere that you can't pay on the day, other than in small print on the website (nothing in twitter and nothing in advertisements about this).

I assume the pub in the groud will be open, but I'm not 100% sure as the London fans are the last people the club would bother to inform. But as its the first game for Broncos here, I'm sure they will probably have it open.

It won't just be Widnes fans caught out by this, but local fans won't have travelled for 4 hours to be met with this stupidity.

You really also should put points on us, its our weakest squad ever, and very few London fans are looking forward to the season, we won't be anywhere near playoffs, and probably in bottom 4. We might overperform on Sun as its our first game in new stadium, but you should be at least 2-3 scores above us

Agreed. The attendance will be 1200 at best on Sunday, cash payers are hardly going to cause long queues. Why some clubs do this is beyond me.Lets turn away paying customers, what kind of business model is that ?

London are not doing themselves any favours with this. They need all the fans they can get in the ground.

Sounds like the decision to not sell tickets on the day is a financial one.

I'm guessing if they shared AFC Wimbledon's Ticket Office, they would have to contribute more financially than they are doing.

They also seem to be selling tickets via another online platform too (TicketCo), so maybe that's how Londoners roll these days.

Looking at the booking page on the London website there looks to be 350/ 400 sold in the designated away section.

Their Twitter account now says they’re opening the ticket office!

Good of a London fan to shout this out!

On a more serious note though, imagine a couple of coaches arriving full of ‘oiled’ fans without tickets! That’s an issue we don’t need and I hope this doesn’t catch on at other clubs!
