Rumour up this way that a certain Sam brooks is Widnes bound for 2024...and it is rumour atm but kinda come from a good source...can't state how much I hope this is wrong but seems not ..only reason I'm praying this is BS is I'm sure brooks had a massive fall out with the club way back when which I think involved hep cahill if I remember right ? Maybe someone can add light to that ? If it's true that's pee poor ..only God send is he's big pals with Danny langtree aha
29 yr old Sam Brookes played for us in 2016 &2017, making 1 start and 4 off the bench, scoring 1 try. Has played for 9 clubs in his career, Whitehaven twice, changes his club every season.
Nothing special in his "butterfly" career so far to get excited about.
Don't recall anything about a bust-up with Cahill.
Looks like a bit of a wanderer, can't say that he was that impressive with us - can't remember him!!!!
It's no wonder you can't remember him as it was some 6 or 7 yrs ago he was on our books - and in two seasons only made 1 start and came off the bench 4 times...
Cumbria viking doesn't seem to rate him.

I've heard the Sam Brooks rumour too a few weeks ago. He did well for a spell when he came on against us in our loss up at Barrow although he did come on as fresh legs against our tiring starting pack. When we brought our subs on I didn't really notice him.

The only hope I have with this is if he was to arrive it would be an improvement at the bottom end of the squad for example a better 6/7th prop than Tileke and Hatton and provides a bit of depth however if this is a signing for the first 17 alarm bells would be well and truely ringing
I think it was Scott Moore who had a bust up with Cahill. Brooks made little impact when he was here, albeit playing in SL. I certainly don’t think he’s better than Hatton.
If I remember correctly, he signed for us from Whitehaven BUT was immediately loaned back to them. Hence the reason he never made lots of appearances 👍
Can we please make some rumours on better players please. This player is on par with Tilleke level forward. I might make one up next week to see this board more positive. 😂😂

He is the level of player that has been signed in recent years anyway. He’s probably on par with most of the Widnes pack of this season.
If he’s cheap, he’ll be on the club’s radar.
