If Sheffield are signing players to come from Oz they're either paying them FT wages or giving them jobs in addition to the playing. Are we in a place to do either? Don't know but doubt it.
Yes we could get SL cast-offs from Wire, Wigan and Saints. But they'd be short-term deals, unless they're young lads they'll be blokes who think they can get another SL contract.
Realistically, what Championship sides have made signings recently that made us think we could've done that? Without the constraints mentioned.
Who have Sheffield signed from overseas? Can’t think of anyone looking at their current squad.
I don't know mate, ask whoever made the comment on here. Probably BS as usual.
Well this squad has a few foreign names and done better than our crap team. Big forwards required next season and buy wisely like this club.
@pascal not hauled his arse over from Samoa recently has he he's been in this country since 2017 🤣

This. Plus people go on about "investment" and money men as if there's no alternative. There is, being well run. With 3000 average crowd, we should be able to finish top six in this league. Batley and Sheffield are managing it. There's no money man behind Halifax. I don't even think Featherstone require a lot of external investment, they are just run well and sweat their assets.
I think Fev have got a owner whose put loads of money into the club for the last couple of seasons.
Mark Campbell used to put a lot of money into Fev, but as he has said several times in recent years the club is pretty much self-sufficient now and in fact the most recent accounts published indicate that he has been repaid some of the money he has put into the club.

I am saying look at the whole squad not the one in the photo. 🙈😂 They have some big Tongan, Samoan type players which we never seem to go for lately. When we did years ago had some crackers. 💪👍 We buy soft forwards who get bullied.
So the question is why don't we buy some big aggressive players that is required in the Championship. 🥖🥖🇫🇷
@pascal I suspect it all comes down to quite simply, money, or the lack of it.

Alan I can see that Pascal frustrated because thinks how the fudge Sheffield have the money and we don't? There is 7 or 8 teams above us in the table and the question is why can't we do as good as these teams, especially with the 3rd best attendance in the league? If we carry on being poor even more fans will drop off, then possibly relegation of the club. Winning becomes a habit, and we need to change the culture of the club. Buying wisely and competitive is the answer for more fans and money it is not rocket science. Basically we have bought badly for several years.
I'm not sure the club is that skint, there was a post on here the other day about the latest finances.Should'nt be any worse off than the likes of Batley and Sheffield anyway.
Saints have just released a load of players. Any worth a look?
Depends what their ages are, if they are young they want SL or FT Championship, if they are retiring they might sign for us and do an Amor and drift away after a few games.
A few younger players leaving Saints, couple of back rowers and Dan Hill, although I don't think we need another full back.
Dan Norman I would have back but I suspect he may well have Full Time offers.
