Right edge of the defence majorly culpable.
The injury to Cook cost us as we were left with Clough, who was excellent, playing too long.
Matty Smith should be disappointed with the inability to clear his lines in a simple way.
Good tries scored again.
Sin binning changed the momentum of the game, which was going nowhere.
Ok we can say we threw that away.
what the hell went on in that second half it looked like we came out to just defend it.
you cant even say it was the lack of experience threw friendlys because we looked s**t in that second half. There is no excuse for me there to throw a lead like that away is disgraceful.
First 30 minutes of second half and I thought Finnegan had read my post! 😂
Then we conceded two by going back to what we were doing in the first half, too slow pushing up at the ptb giving them too much time to get momentum. Credit to Newcastle though, they took their chances!
The last play clock up was unforgivable though! Not sure who played the ball from dummy half, but in not setting up the drop goal he cost us the game.
That second half was vary poor from us, no game management but we at least defended well. Doro's brain fart because someone tackled him hard killed us. That extra space and our inability to have any field position killed us.
Very disappointing result against a bang average Newcastle team. I worry for us against Toulouse, york, fev and even sheffield.
Lastly Speading was absolute garbage today, smith still looks unfit. But worst of all, i think we got our tactics wrong in that 2nd half, lots of running at the markers and very little attacking rugby played. when we have craven, Smith and Owens as our backs we should be opening up teams with good rugby not trying to shut a game down.
That was pathetic.
Said ages ago we can’t go into the season with this squad- and we have.
Far too lightweight, only using 16 men in the first game of the season because we haven’t got enough forwards is a joke.
Matty Smith- completely anonymous, as he was year. His right edge is a disgrace defensively. They haven’t a clue.
A long, long season ahead
Throwing away that lead in last 7/8 minutes is embarrasing especially with the experience in our halves.
Spedding is going to keep getting targeted by teams unless his defence improves significantly.
I’m so disappointed after that . I thought we were bad a last week against Whitehaven but Christ this week I could say we looked worse
First time posting on here, though I saw my first Chemics match in 1967.
Only caught the last 15 minutes of the stream as my visiting granddaughter had only just left. I'd rather have stayed in the garden with her because that was a really poor watch - feeble defence, poor discipline from Doro and nothing worthwhile with the ball. That attempted drop goal set up was horrible.
I know there were some missing but I hope it gets a lot better than that.
That second half was pathetic. Too many mistakes and no idea near the line and that last ten minutes instead of putting the game to bed we couldn't even kick the ball out of our half!!!!! If anyone thinks we are title candidates they need to look at that game again. They had four players that we didn't think were good enough and they played their hearts out. Pathetic
I’m sorry ye can’t cover that second half up with excuses
Also, we barely had any pressure on their line for the whole second half, which considering we scored 30 in the first half, was very poor.
Having 3 props and no specialist hooker told.
Bottom three in our league - York, Broncos, and Kear's Crew - All were in the mix for playing SL football this term!
You were the same as us, didn't trouble the scorers in the second half, but at least you got a point out of it, which is more than we did.
Spelly.
Definately a Point lost rather than a Point gained.
Jake Spedding looks utterly terrified of defending.
the lad from wire was the best player on the field but has ultimately cost us the game.
