Newcastle away

That was pathetic.

Said ages ago we can’t go into the season with this squad- and we have.

Far too lightweight, only using 16 men in the first game of the season because we haven’t got enough forwards is a joke.

Matty Smith- completely anonymous, as he was year. His right edge is a disgrace defensively. They haven’t a clue.

A long, long season ahead

Throwing away that lead in last 7/8 minutes is embarrasing especially with the experience in our halves.

Spedding is going to keep getting targeted by teams unless his defence improves significantly.

I’m so disappointed after that . I thought we were bad a last week against Whitehaven but Christ this week I could say we looked worse

First time posting on here, though I saw my first Chemics match in 1967.

Only caught the last 15 minutes of the stream as my visiting granddaughter had only just left.  I'd rather have stayed in the garden with her because that was a really poor watch - feeble defence, poor discipline from Doro and nothing worthwhile with the ball.  That attempted drop goal set up was horrible.

I know there were some missing but I hope it gets a lot better than that.

That second half was pathetic. Too many mistakes and no idea near the line and that last ten minutes instead of putting the game to bed we couldn't even kick the ball out of our half!!!!! If anyone thinks we are title candidates they need to look at that game again. They had four players that we didn't think were good enough and they played their hearts out. Pathetic

Also, we barely had any pressure on their line for the whole second half, which considering we scored 30 in the first half, was very poor.

Having 3 props and no specialist hooker told.

Bottom three in our league - York, Broncos, and Kear's Crew - All were in the mix for playing SL football this term!

You were the same as us, didn't trouble the scorers in the second half, but at least you got a point out of it, which is more than we did.

Spelly.

Definately a Point lost rather than a Point gained.

Jake Spedding looks utterly terrified of defending.

the lad from wire was the best player on the field but has ultimately cost us the game.

Fair point spelly get your point but we have just threw a 14 point lead away in one half without even loooking like we wanted to attack Newcastle’s line in that second half. I just hope we can improve.

Doro Was superb for most of the game, just showed a real lack of maturity to get sinbinned when we looked comfortable. Our pack were making good yards in contact and didnt let us down.

Im more worried about our tactics in that 2nd half. It looked like we were sent out to close the game down, which you should never be doing against that Newcastle team. In reality we are not even close to challenging the top teams in this league, but the fact that we have come away from that 2nd forty with zero points is a worry that we are too close to the bottom teams for comfort.

We wont get relegated, but a season of mediocre performances and results look likely this year.

I don't think they were sent out there to be conservative in the second half deliberately, I just think we were generally very poor.

I'm not convinced Spedding is necessarily the answer at centre. Feel like Roby could play there.

Ironically enough, look at the benches: they could bring the Brothers off the bench, with 140+ SL and Championship appearances between them. Regardless of what you think about them as players.

We brought Wilde and Tilleke who have never played a League Game.

Should be playing on wing instead of Buckley. Buckley is nowhere good enough.
