@richard-richard I see your point but as I’ve said it’s probably the most important time of the year for Rugby League Clubs trying to get much needed revenue into the club especially below Super League…A sale of 200-300 shirts at £30 to £45 a pop is nothing to be sniffed at and may just contribute to getting another player in before the start of the season.

Totally understand that 100%

Still find some of the comments on the thread a tad funny tho..

I haven't seen anything from the club about the new shirts. What's strange for me is they haven't done an online launch of the designs, with players wearing the home and away so fans can give an opinion and select home or away. Also to my knowledge no date for release? If they are coming out in January at least let people know.

I would say if they don't come out before Christmas for whatever reason, production delays etc then it is a lost revenue opportunity for the club. If someone was spending £50 on a Christmas present, if the new shirt isn't out they may spend that £50 on a playstation game for example instead.  Will they then spend another £50 in January on a shirt without Christmas as a reason? I suspect many people won't.

I contacted the Club today by email. As has been suggested, there has been a delay in shipping but the kits should be available for pre-order "very soon", with the social media launch ready to go. Can't really blame the Club for this delay, but you can't stop a good moan.

I was told at the shop last week that the delivery was delayed because of the shortage of drivers at the docks, but hopefully be here by next weekend.

Then why cannot the club tell people ?. Plenty asking the club on social media without any reply.

The clubs social media has been poor for a while. Other than flogging season tickets, there’s hardly anything on there. Last year there were videos from pre season, which were good.

@frankg Leeds Rhinos and Hull KR are both supplied by Oxen and they have their Shirts available to purchase now or as in the case of Hull KR you can pre order the Away shirt.I’m getting the impression it’s a production issue with sadly Leeds and Hull KR taking priority in front of Widnes because of the amount of shirts they both sell.Just looking at the Leeds Rhinos site they are currently selling the 2022 Home/Away Shirt for £59.99 with an England World Cup Shirt,it may be something the club might look at to bring in extra sales if the shirts are delayed,it’s a good offer.

Well them answering you is a start. hardly an effort to answer others who asked and let fans actually what is wrong. A bit early in the season Frank for you jump to the clubs defence.

You can see the club's predicament though. 'Promise' shirts for Christmas, or even let people think that they would be there (without certainty),  delivery goes wrong and the punters are up in arms!

Let's be optimistic anyway, every chance that there won't be games on or fans allowed in if medics predictions prove to be true!

Happy Christmas!!!!!

@mick-george It is not so much about defending the club, as pointing out that if anyone is so interested in buying a replica shirt, why not contact the club instead of moaning on here. I got a reply within a couple of hours, so not sure why others say they cannot get a response.

Clubs at all levels are struggling to get hold of kits due to various logistical reasons - both in terms of production and getting them shipped over from wherever.

That being said, I don't think there's any excuse for not replying to comments on social media from fans (ergo customers) who are asking genuine questions about something.

All this I would agree with.  If there is a delay in delivery, for whatever reason, let the fans know.  It is almost certainly out of the clubs hands. But openness may ease some of the angst being shown on here.
