Roberts had a season with us last year, looking more than decent, and despite being disappointed, I wasn't surprised at all when he moved on, but.................
He's struggled for game time under Lam, so hardly a shock that they've loaned (un-loaded?) him to you mob.
As regards Dixon, he still has a bit of pace, but in my opinion, his best days are behind him, so.........
I reckon the ex-Lion will be a hit for you, but whilst I'm not so sure about KD, I hope he similarly does the biz in a Chemics' shirt.
Spelly.
Think this is good business, and possibly both could be here next season, with doubt if tyrer carries on Dixon is a decent goal kicker and he has bags of speed and is exciting ball in hand which is something we do not have in the backs I don’t think our back line could be any more boring
as for roberts young and highly regarded and lost his place due to money signings at Leigh one with plenty of potential and with spedding not making the match 17 many times this year a possible replacement for him. Maybe an audition for both players
Dixon isn’t exactly ancient at 29! Must admit I thought he was a bit older as he seems to have been around a long time. He’s got a very impressive try scoring record and I reckon he could go well for us.
Two wingers? Or can Roberts play elsewhere?
He is listed as wing/centre on Wikipedia which may or may not be accurate.
Did play centre against us in the cup though anyway.
We have lost Brookes and Roby long term. Dixon can play full back as well as on the wing. Makes sense as it's pretty much 2 outside backs to replace 2 others. I see Roberts is 6"4 so adds some size on the wing.
Could we potentially see Owens move to HB with more options in the backs?
At the end of the day, the signings of Dixon and Roberts will potentially give us a bit more strike power, which we need against the better teams as we barely register any points.
I’d leave Owens at fullback. Reads the game well, communicates with the defence and knows when to chime into the line in attack. Dixon and Ince wings, Fleming and Roberts at centre fitness permitting.
Hopefully Dixon stays away from goal kicking, that's how he injured himself here the other week, practicing after training.
Given how many competent goalkickers we have you’d like to think that’s a given in those circumstances
