If Cas get relegated, and on current form they must now be favourite I can see Powell getting the job of coaching them in the Championship.
I think we should wait until the end of the season now, we are safe from relegation and I can see a few more coaches becoming available between now and the start of next season as you would expect. We won't get relegated and Featherstone or Tolouse will get promoted so we may as well wait.
May sound odd but Powell has done what we wanted and signed a massive pack and look how its turned out!!!!

The only problem with that is having to wait to see which players the new coach wasn’t to sign, and by that time, they may have gone to some other club.
Unless we can sign up a new coach to start after the end of the season, but ask him which players he’d like us to try and sign, before he comes.
What new coach ever has the luxury of choosing their own entire squad ?To me it's a simple case of take it or leave it.'These are the players we have,if you don't rate some of them then don't bother applying.Either that or work with what you have got.'
Well, some would say and have said on these pages quite a few times, you can’t blame the coach for us not doing well if he has to coach a team of players chosen by someone else.
It really wouldn't take a lot to win the Championship but it is all down to recruitment.
I am told we are not skint at all but JK didn't want to spend money. I have also been told JK had real 'anger' issues which if mental health cannot be dismissed but mustn't have helped the situation out. Also, I am aware that Gilly is 'running' the training sessions mostly.
As has been said by most, I'd really make some changes to the squad, I'd keep Edge, Dixon, Gilmore, Farnworth, Lawton and not man more to be honest and have a major recruitment drive.
A half decent coach backed with a number of new players could easily finish top 2/3 in this league next year, look at Batley- consistently near the top on a fraction of our budget but with someone who can clearly get the best out of their players.
Kear made the point several times that Gilmore had an excellent understanding of tactics etc.
Certainly sounds as if he could become a really clever coach, hopefully with us!!
Which is a load of rubbish.A coach gets paid to coach and work with a group of players whether he signed them or not.We beat Bradford and gave Toulouse a game with the same players Kear had. When Warrington appoint their new coach he will inherit a squad that he never assembled himself.Happens all the time.Well, some would say and have said on these pages quite a few times, you can’t blame the coach for us not doing well if he has to coach a team of players chosen by someone else.
Littler been relieved of his duties at Oldham, with them half way up League 1.
Be ridiculous if he gets this job.

You could not write this comedy show. Surely it can’t possibly be him now👍👍
I wonder if there is any link between the resignation of Chris Price and the apparent imminent recruitment of Littler?
Or am I just losing the plot…..
Three narrow defeats to Doncaster, a draw and a modest defeat to table-topping Dewsbury (who battered us!) and a couple of losses to teams above them - new owners must want wholesale change, and an instant miracle by the sounds of it, I suspect. However, all that said, I think we need to aim higher than that! COYV!

I’m not able to edit that post, but would if I could as I’ve since found out that Chris Price has left for family reasons and no disrespect was intended.
Oldham are spending big next season, they will be strong favourites to go up next year. But as we have seen with Keighley and the way Dewsbury are walking the league after going down, the Championship is a big step up.
