He may have had a better offer from elsewhere? To be honest if he does not want to be at Widnes we do not want him. He is a second rower so not as serious as it would be if he was a prop. It'll be interesting to see if we replace him.

Doesn't want to be here for whatever reason open the door and bid him farewell...like previously said be interesting to see if he's replaced as a body ...well stacked in the back row anyway...so if someone does come in I'd think a centre would be a good move as we're quite light there ....but all's well and good saying this as the chances the club replace him are zip at a guess ...

What's the odds on him signing for Oldham?

His Mum has posted that he just wants a break from the game for personal reasons and has no love for Rugby at the moment. Why fans take it personally against Widnes I'm not sure.I suppose he could have gone through the motions half hearted and picked up his wages but at least he's honest.

It’s strange he’s decided he doesn’t like it anymore 5 weeks after saying he’s really looking forward to playing for us, and showing people how he can play

Fair enough, none of us know the lad, but not giving any sort of reason tempts imagination. It's the cost of even low level sports personnel.

Hope that he recovers his mojo and returns in due course.

Yeah i did see that on the Widnes facebook group. Personally I think glad he has done it now rather than 6 games into the season. Taking a wage with no commitment and going through the motions that would have upset the fans more so fair play to the lad. It gives us time to look and personally I prefer to spend the money on a decent centre. There is no loss as it is not like he is in a pivotal position like Gilmore or JJ.

Hey on a positive we may get a decent loan from a Super league team or dual like Bardsley Rowe.

I had heard before this announcement that there were a couple of players who were unhappy with the training, in that it was too much for them. I don't know McKenzie's reasons for leaving, I hope he finds his place in the world. RL is a tough sport and there's not much reward for effort really, particularly at the level we are.

Not sure if that's true but it's only 80 minutes of second division rugby once per week.No need to train players to run up Everest.

I would have thought the training at St Helens would have been tougher than it is here.
