Just gone to Bradford on 2 week loan. Have we fell out with our friends up the rd?
Bradford have a lot of injuries whereas we are virtually full strength. Wire will want us to play loan players & we only did in the friendly & 1 or 2 1895 games. Hopefully we may get some help off them if we get a lot of injuries.
At the end of the day we are there to be used by SL clubs as a stepping stone for their young or injured players. Their loyalty is to themselves!!!!
AC has taken the best route available by filling the squad with players happy at Championship level where possible.
The whole system stinks tbh, if you want a real and fair competition. As it stands a club could get promoted (in terms of winning games) with hardly any squad.
Hopefully IMG irons that out in due course!!
@sandgroper I agree with you. It all depends on how good the so called SL players are.To be honest the ones we got did not impress me but that was only based on the friendly v Whitehaven. The ones we got from Wire in previous years did not impress me either! It would appear clubs in Yorkshire are benefiting a lot more than we are. Although saying that you could argue Saints had a lot to do with Swinton staying up last year.
I can't imagine why IMG would interfere with the loan/DR system involving Championship clubs. The vast majority of lower league clubs and SL clubs seem to be in favour of the way the system is and are happy to utilise it.
Simply on the basis that they look wider than who finishes up winning the league. They are looking at the club set up as a whole rather than who can juggle loanees.
Maybe having looked at the players in training the coach thinks our own contracted players are better?
@cj91 I'd say that was the case mate, barring an injury crisis, I can't see us asking for many players
