His form and fitness in the early part of the season, suggested that this might be his last one, but in the second half of the season with the change to 13 and a big improvement in his match fitness he has been able to put his vast experience to good use and has earned a place for 2022. Not sure he is as effective at 7 anymore, or maybe he has been at 13 of necessity, with our prop shortage and he could show up better at 7 given his improved fitness.

His versatility is part of his value to the club. He’s been a big asset at 13 but also gone quite well when spelled at hooker and I’m sure he could still do a steady job in the halves if required.

Makes us a better team, very glad he's here next year.

Super news!  Without him this season we could have been in a sudden death relegation game at Swinton next week.  He has been head and shoulders the best player throughout the season, and his reaction to Sunday's last gasp penalty kick shows his enthusiasm for both the game and the club is very much still there.
