First and last game of the season for me.
Genuinely didn't understand taking the two in the first half, we'd had one attack and scored, after there being about 90% of play in our own 30m, why not got for it again.
The most annoying thing was how they were holding the ball in the scrum and gaining penalties for offside, surely after the first two we should have become wise to this, but no we continued to be caught out.
All in all, an absolute crunchie show.
Of course we should have run the penalty at 6-0 up at that stage of the game when we had just got them on the back foot. I knew we would take the two though. The main turning point for me was giving a try away by chucking the ball away right on the back of the Fozard 40/20 which should have put us in a scoring position ourselves.
Said to my son (again) on way out - same old shite. Why do I lay near on £70 every home game for me and him to go (with food and drinks)?
Lofty expectations of making playoffs? You’re having a laugh. Bizarre team selection (unless injuries forced hand) but heard a ridiculous rumour in concourse that Grady is on hols. I’ve heard WV is a holiday camp at the best of times but that would be taking the piss.

Tactics are dull but the club need to step up and get a stand off and another prop, or are they happy to save whatever funds they have for a go next season....that would be a very dangerous move as if we carry on like this we will be down to the absolute hardcore 1500 or so.
Also, why do we not seem to be going for any Aussies/South Sea Islanders, other clubs at this level seem to get them?!

Shocking today. Too many errors and too many players not up to it. We desperately need a decent halfback and two props. The tactics are so boring to watch and I can’t believe we didn’t keep kicking back and making their big forwards tire. Desperately need some drastic changes or the crowds will fall

Not ideal, but not the end of the world.
Talking between us leaving the ground and it’s really sad just how far we’ve fallen. The standard of rugby we produce is woeful. Attacking wise is a small step above amateur level. There’s no shape to our attacking. What does a Widnes try look like? The most boring style of rugby I’ve ever seen. Crowds tell the story.

Well that's alright then! FFS that's why we'll never go anywhere. Didn’t we allow Amor to go off with his bucket and spade? Amateurish. You take your hols when the seasons done. Even at semi-professional. But as I say sums up this club. Amateur.

Happy to be corrected but I think that is the worst home regular season league crowd in at least the last 15 years, not counting Covid seasons.
It's a shame because I think they are trying to do things, e.g. the Fan Zone, but unless we see better results on a consistent basis those efforts are going to be undermined.
Also, it's about a year since JK got appointed; what are people's thoughts?
For me, we have improved a bit and we don't often get hammered but there is a lack of enjoyment factor. I would like to see more in the second half of the season but I'm not expecting it!
