Good second half performance to take the points. There’s a lot still to work on but encouraging to see us manage to fight back from 6-22 down and also to see some increased aggression in defence after the interval.

@ditton-donkey happy to be wrong. It is a rarity though,Widnes winning from a deficit.

Let’s keep being happy - where is the mad Frenchman ?
think we may win a few more this season yet, would love to do the double on Halifax !

Or winning at all!

Thought Lawton had a good game at prop. I've long thought he would be best utilised at 13.

I still think one thing that's costing us is a lack of rotation at 9. London had Davis and Parata buzzing around for the whole of the first half and it caused us problems. Ironically, although they spelled Davis, they left Parata on and he tired towards the end.

A few lucky bounces off kicks got us the win in the end, and that's all that matters really.

Woeful. Our second try was the most forward a pass I’ve ever seen.

It must have been some to be more forward than the second try London scored.

They showed a bit of character to come back, so fair play to them, but still not convinced.

The first half an hour was absolutely dire. Complete lack of intent and leadership.

I thought we would win “comfortably” but a win is a win.

Not a great game, we made nearly as many errors as the referee and IMHO were lucky to end up winning the game.

@jdgsport can’t agree James. Lawton stupid pen lead to their first try, Lawton got in the way of Ince catching ball from KO after we scored and they score off of the next set. Sure Lawton was woeful in tackling their last try under the posts, others involved in that too but he seems such a lazy player at times.

totally awful first half from us complete opposite to our performance against York. Decided to turn up for second half but they need to start turning up from the off and for the full 80.

Baker for us was best player today. Forward passes missed by officials is very worrying.

we were much better when we played at a higher tempo yet players kept trying to tell our players to calm it down. We need to keep at th  ex high tempo as playing slowly helps the opposition as well as hinders is IMVHO. A win yes but much much much more needs to be worked on.

First half we were woeful.

Second half we showed more desire and effort, Craven seemed to step it up for me in the 2nd half and that helped.

Why Hulme wasn't on the bench when he played in an international last week is beyond me.

What was the story with Roberts being brought in but not played?

Needed a win, got one, another next week please.

Am I the only one interested in the attendance today? I thought it was the same, or perhaps a bit less than the last game.

Very disappointing. Where is everybody?

Enjoyed the win today. Good solid 2nd half. JK has some work to do but the basics of a workman like team is there. Hope Doro is OK. I'd be trying to get him signed up for next season and beyond. Same with Aaron Brown. He didn't return after being substituted. Good to see Kemik return also. Who ever it was did a good job getting the kids involved. WTID

A couple of observations from today..

We are very lazy as a whole, countless times the players just stood there watching the game instead of being involved, ie we make a half break and there is no one backing up, or the offload is on but we are stood 10 metres behind the ball carrier.. just lazy

Our line speed is the worst I've ever seen it. ..again lazy.

Lawton isn't a prop. Would of been better playing Davis there instead and let Lawton run wide.. their left hand side was weak and we never once ran at it.

Good to get the win but London were very poor and should never have gotten into the lead they did. Their second try was laughable with that forward pass.

The kick off was down Lawton's throat, it was Ince that got in his way not the other way round. Lawton was the only one giving any go forward in the first half, him coming back on before half time got us back in the game and laid the platform for Dixon's try.

Totally agree James and for all his faults at least he threatens and offers something, too many don’t and I would have someone like Lawton all day who makes errors but threatens and wins you a game compared to a Sam Wilde who plays every game who offers very little other than the basics

So what happened with the ref giving us a pen just before the hooter sounded for HT and then he blew up when it went off? Isn’t the rule that if you’ve awarded it (and it was eminently kickable about 10-20m out) he should have allowed it to happen? Even saw Bob Beswick question him on it when they walked off?

That would’ve reduced the halftime deficit to 10 pts (I know in the end that didn’t matter) but again shows poor form from refs in this division. Do they make it up as they go along???
