Dixon has been good for us and he's a nice bloke. However his pace has gone and we have cover on the wings so let him go and good luck to him.

It’s a short career really and if he gets overpaid at Oldham rather than average paid at Widnes and for a longer term contract, I’m not surprised
I've thought that things appear to be a bit more transparent these days tbf! Both from the club, in terms of the info AC gives out willingly and from what is discussed on the podcast. Sounds to me as though the club have decided that they aren't looking to retain these players and it sounds as though AC wants to bring in his own players for next year. On that basis and with a bit of a possible "now or maybe never" offer from Swinton and Oldham these players have asked to be replaced or in Dixons case maybe go and find some game time. I'm hopeful that maybe the players we want to bring in aren't necessarily the cast offs from other clubs hence why we haven't brought anyone in permanently and why we are trying to make do and mend for the rest of the season with loans and DR etc.
I'm optimistic that AC seems to be developing a squad that seems to be enjoying their rugby together. Our good seasons in the past seem to have coincided when that good feeling was evident on the pitch and spilled into the stands. No point jeopardizing that for a few players that want to be elsewhere.
