Matt shaw reporting he is on bradfords radar and a departure looks to be on the cards, if true i hope he doesn’t leave without replacing him first, on the eve of the season ceo, assistant now a player leaving is far from ideal especially a prop
If it happens then so be it.A bit disappointing but not the end of the world.
He's under contract for 12 months and is named in our first choice 17. They would need to pay a fee for him. He has played SL before but Bradford seems a sideways move, however I see he was born in Huddersfield so I guess it would help with travelling time and expenses.
If he is allowed to leave I would expect us to have a replacement ready if a good standard that’s for sure
It would be disappointing to lose him, now we are finally going into a season with an adequate number of props! Hopefully it either doesn’t happen or we have a replacement lined up.
No loss , I mentioned when he signed that for one reason or another during his career he has only ever appeared on average over his career half the games in a season .
Unfortunately he carried this on when he joined us last season ,in fact he may have missed more matches than he played . Got injured in his first match for us .
I am sure we will be able to sign a replacement who will be better value for money .
To be fair having read the article it doesn’t say much other than he’s on a shortlist of players they’re interested in. Doesn’t mean A) they will sign him, B) Widnes would sell him/let him go or C) he’s even interested in a move to Bradford from Widnes.
as people have said didnt show much since moving here from Salford mid way through last year and would only let go or sell him if we had someone lined up of better quality
Been through some clubs this lad. Gives away silly penalties and hasn't shown enough with us to be in first choice 17.
After watching him give away 3 penalties in 5 mins yesterday, can go for me. Either a complete loose cannon or does not want to be here.
Was poor yesterday. Would need a big performance against Saints to stand much chance of being in the 17 for the York game.
@derbyshirewidnesian Think I’ve watched every game he’s played for Widnes and all I can remember- good or bad- is the last 10 minutes or so away at Batley conceding multiple penalties.
I wouldn’t be upset to see him leave but at the same time the reason why Bradford (apparently) want him so much is because there isn’t a lot of other options out there.
Let him go Bradford we have plenty of props and sign a half back with experience even if part way through the season.
Really don’t think we have enough props to let one go without replacing him. It’s all fine and dandy now whilst none of them are injured but that situation rarely lasts long into the season.
It may well not last beyond Friday at Saints!Really don’t think we have enough props to let one go without replacing him. It’s all fine and dandy now whilst none of them are injured but that situation rarely lasts long into the season.
