Recruitment will always be a problem at part time level when we play on a surface that players are reluctant to play on and might hamper their ability to go to work the following day.People will say other teams play on a 3d pitch but it must not help when trying to attract players to travel from Yorkshire or Cumbria.

Rip the pitch up and loads will be wanting to play for us. 😂
@ratboy So you don't think it has an impact on recruitment?
Possibly does mate hence why said rip the pitch up. 😂👍 Joking aside something needs to be done to get the best Widnes side possible Every year we under achieve and need to get a winning culture with great attitude.
At the end of the day I support Widnes because my Town, but I also want the best first team possible We pay to be entertained and losing more than winning is not entertainment.
If our pitch is the problem, how come London and Sheffield are having no problems getting good players with their pitches?
Is plastic that much of a problem in recruitment?
I can't see it being ripped up any time soon, as it's used regularly generating money that wouldn't be coming in if you played on grass.
Spelly.
Perhaps we are just not an attractive proposition. I saw that Jay Chapelow has been offered a two year contract at Oldham. Maybe a decent contract offer would overcome any perceived issues with the pitch?
We will have to wait and see I suppose but, based on rumours, we are building a mid-table squad at best. Last season, I was confident (as much as you an be with Widnes) of a top six finish in 2023, so maybe my pessimistic outlook for 2024 will prove equally wrong and we will run away with the league!!!
Not a chance ..a team only, and only!... good enough to stay up...that's it....so far away from London now and Toulouse and probably Wakefield and feath to challenge anyone...build a team aroundwho Coleman has retained???.. Gilmore???. Pants...did jack when he had the opp to create for this team...overrated and lazy...

London play on grass.
Does anyone know what Nikau Williams is doing next season
Was rumoured to be heading to York but not seen anything officially confirmed.
Gilmore is a fine signing, needs other players round him
Doesn’t look like Owen Abel is part of the crusaders released list
Louis brogan from swinton to Leigh could be a possible loan option with Coleman connection
I’m not saying these are world beaters but when we talk about size in the pack we should be looking at some Pacific Islanders
