Signing a player who hasn’t yet had surgery on an injured shoulder?
Seems a great way to spend the limited resources we have
@viking25 hopefully he will be fit for the start of the season, from memory he will add one thing we miss and that's the ability to offload, he is very aggressive and very streetwise.
Decent signing I'd say 😉
I make that 23 in the squad now including JJ. Another quality half back & centre & back row forward or prop would strengthen the squad significantly.IMO the current squad will finish anywhere 7th to 12th only.

He fits the bill as a former Oldham player though.
To be fair, when fit, he is a very good forward. Though not sure he gets in ahead of Lloyd or Wilde.
A good player Langtree and Barrow gutted they have lost him as a player for next season. Squad taking shape and I feel a halfback, centre and a prop/back rower should be enough. Then use loan and dual when required.
Obviously not ideal that he needs an op but hey players do recover..Gilly tore his pec last year n came back fine .he's a quality player that can play anywhere in the pack ..just gotta look at the barrow fans reaction to it..says it all

Yeah Barrow fans gutted and even if op in January he could be up and running by April time. All we need now is a running halfback with a good long kicking game. A backrower and another centre for me, then the squad complete. Add dual reg and Loans we will be fine.
I can’t believe people are convincing themselves that the players we are bringing in are good enough to compete towards the top of the table.
York bring in Richie Myler and we sign a back rower who is injured. Weren’t Barrow fighting relegation last year a long with Swinton? At least half the squad have got experience of a relegation fight, should help us.
Still seen nothing to encourage me to renew my season ticket. Also heard absolutely nothing from the club about it either.
I don't know if anyone is convincing themselves that we're headed towards the top of the table. Where did you get that impression?
Wakey, Fev, Bradford, Toulouse will be stronger than us. Poss Sheffield and York. Batley and Halifax unknown.

If we had 40 players signed up you'd still say we need a halfback, centre and a prop/back rower.
Drop the arm on the Dansette Ratters.

Widnes are a club that haven’t finished in the top half of the table since 2011.
Since being relegated, have had the following finishes:
2019 - 11th (would’ve been 8th but for points deduction)
2020 - Abandoned
2021 - 8th
2022 - 8th
2023 - 9th
Some fans haven’t grasped that Widnes are a bottom half of the Championship club. There are no signs that this will improve. The incomings will, with a bit of luck get Widnes within a shot of the top 6, providing they gel. It is more likely that it will be a relegation scrap.
Personally, I think Widnes will finish between 8th and 11th again.
Well, we ain't getting promoted (if that existed). But I don't think we'll get relegated either. A good season - 5th or 6th. A bad season - 11th or 12th. If I was a betting man, somewhere in between.
In IMG terms, more "B".
The majority of this squad finished 9th last year. We have not recruited anything better than what has left.
Let that sink in. Our forwards are atrocious.
The Club appears to be on it's arse and drifting towards oblivion. I hope I'm wrong.

You can't say that we haven't recruited "better" until you see them play. We'll have a reworked pack next year, there's nothing to say that, despite where they've come from, they won't be better than what we had last year. People asked for a Championship pack and we've made a move towards that. I'm not defending the recruitment but, let's wait and see.

Champ 1 Oldham have signed players from the leagues above, have they recruited 'better'? Of course they have. We have signed players from Swinton, Barrow. Only Reilly & Kirk from Sheffield have come from teams above us. That's not a great look to me.
