Guess that was a surprise to all who witnessed last week's debacle , did big Huw make a difference or Craven , Owens ?

Worthington was excellent. Has a knack of twisting out of tackles and making bags of yards. Craven and Owen had okay returns, except that Danny did his usual trick of getting sent off for petulance (fortunately only minutes from the end) and Jack was rarely put under high ball pressure. Ince has to be MOM for his three tries, mazy runs and try-saving tackle in the last dramatic minutes. But really no-one stood out. They were just all pretty solid and didn't need to be outstanding to defeat an error-prone Fax. Stiil, it was a stirring performance, especially after last week's debacle. The attack was efficient, Gilmore's generalship was good, and the line defence was excellent. Lawton was not missed.

The performance puts into perspective the hysteria on this board after one loss following four wins. A shame so few showed faith to follow the lads.

Big Huw is solid but not that tall. He ran the ball in well & he tackled well mainly around the legs. Looked ok for this division but obviously not easy to assess on one game.

Once again we struggled in the first half after Farnworth was subbed.

One concern for us is that both Grady and Brown went off injured with a few minutes to go. I didn’t have a good view of what happened but assume it was a clash of heads. Could be problematic for us next week if they failed the concussion test and aren’t able to play against Batley. Hopefully they will be fine.

Not as far as I know. Unfortunately we don’t currently get post match interviews with the coach on the club’s YouTube channel anymore.

Brown was fine after the final whistle, not sure about Grady (who did look the worse of the 2)

Paulie xx

From the radio commentary it sounded like they were withdrawn rather than the ref give two green injury tickets which would have left us very short handed so close to the final whistle.

The win. from the commentary, was as much down to general game management as anything else. Good solid play and control is a powerful recipe.

@pauliewalnuts Grady came over at the final whistle to where I was and looked and sounded right as rain. This doesn't mean he doesn't have to follow concussion protocols but I am hopeful he'll be available for Batley.

@cumbria-viking Although I have been a fan of Adam's I hope he doesn't come back at all. His attitude can't be the best if he's on the point of leaving. More importantly I suspect that some in the team must see him as more of a liability than an asset. His clumsy offloads must have team-mates dreading he's going to make them one. Whenever Adam is involved in a play the outcome will be a) a try b) a sending off c) a carding for his tackler d) a missed tackle or d) a dropped ball. I sensed that the team yesterday was more settled without all that excitement.

@macc-viking maybe he tries too hard in every play and the coach needs to get in his ear and say something

@mckviking  Maybe we'll see the Ronaldo reaction; great player but every team he leaves improves. Same thing happening right now with Declan Rice and West Ham.
