Would be a big blow. Props are hard to come by, as we know, so losing one of our better ones isn’t good. Saying that he hasn’t really kicked on this season after injury.
Im sure people will still think everything’s ok, though…
Farnworth was great last year, I went as far as saying in a full time environment he could easily play SL. I'd probably suggest his injury record is the only reason clubs haven't take a punt on him. It's a big risk signing for Oldham as I'm not sure they'll come back up again. He's better than League 1 standard, even if he's off his best currently.
I am surprised no one better has come in for him, I too thought he could make it in Super League.

Can only hope this isn’t correct. Best prop at the club by a reasonable margin and will be difficult to replace. Particularly as we seem to struggle to find enough props nearly every season.
Hope he's wrong.But if Farnworth has been offered good terms by Oldham and Widnes feel they wouldnt get a return on their investment if they matched or bettered that offer then what are they supposed to do ? His injury problems might be behind him and he plays every game next year but there's no crystal ball.A fully fit Farnworth will be missed,though.
Good luck to Farnworth though I would have expected him to be looking higher tbh if he wants SL. Maybe his job plus part time RL is enough.
The money must be good though, they have signed Ellis at 33 yrs old after a bad injury season! We need props who may be approaching that age but are fit!!!

Oldham are a club very much on the rise and will be playing at boundary park next year.
It's an exciting time to sign for a club like Oldham.
I can’t see Oldham coming up this season, Dewsbury are going to win it, unless they suddenly start playing terribly, which leaves just one place left, and there are 3 other clubs doing better than them at the moment
