Or pack the job in.  He is not getting any support from the players.   Batley away next week, heaven help them.

They’re lucky there’s nobody in or they’d be getting told what we thought of this performance

Glynn, I have to agree mate. I’m a bit shell shocked at what we’ve just seen. Never seen a team turn out for a game so disorganised or so disinterested.

Our usual second half performance coming up. Awful start to the second half.

Quite honestly one of the worst ever games I have seen from a Widnes side in terms of skill, application and effort. There was zero organisation.

We yet again got beaten by Sykes and Finn who are 76 between them.

The senior players in the team were all lacking in leadership and quality.

Throws up question marks about Finnigan but I guess he has only had 5 matches.

How unfit do some of the players look!!!!

We were awful no doubt but they were laying on all game & not penalised once. They were also ripping the ball out with 3 men in most tackles with 2 ripping at the ball. There was only Douro competing in the props & he is hot headed at times. Come back twins all is forgiven! Dewsbury had far more determination but will not be in the top 6. I fear we have just 1 point from 2 of our easier games which means we will finish well down the league. If we do not improve we could be relegated on that form. To improve season on season we need to finish in top half of the league to be able to get more money for league position to improve the squad. It is going to be a long season & people will not pay to see that.

After that dismal performance, I can’t help wondering if Tim Sheens knew a lot more about the clubs future than we imagined?

Part of me wonders whether some of the players are not performing because they signed for Sheens and aren't keen on the current coach.

The same old Widnes drama queens out again.

I remember the dodgy days of the early 90's when we couldn't even kick-off correctly.

We've been here before and we'll be here again after the 'good times' have returned.

It's the circle of life.

If you want oven-ready success, there is Wire up the road or Stains. It's a buyers market.

Today was indefensible.

Simple as that.

I was a young lad back in them days Magnus but i bet if Widnes Vikings had  a internet Forum it would have read pretty much like it does today. We can not always be great, and god knows we have plenty of recent experience of not being great either as a club or a team. But that does not excuse performances like that.

We have 2 games to get our season back on track before things really start going downhill. Its not a massive Drama yet, but there have been major danger signs that something is not right since game one.

Probably there are a few more on this forum who like me watched Widnes decades before the 1990’s.

Plenty of happy memories to recall, and of course most clubs have good as well as bad times. But, the biggest problem any organisation faces is not recognising problems.

Ok it’s very early days, and optimism is a fine thing, but not at the expense of being unwilling to accept that changes are needed.

We have some good players, what seems to be missing is a positive team spirit and pride in playing together for the club.
