We just can’t buy a win at the moment, but we must keep the faith!

I fully agree but it so frustrating seeing professional players choose the wrong option time after time & bomb so many tries.

Our top earners Smith, craven & Owens are not doing enough unless they are carrying injuries.

It is all very well bringing in new forwards for next year but we are losing Lawton who has been mainly instrumental in securing the few wins we have achieved this season. He will be a massive loss to the side.

I fear similar mistakes being made again. Ok we have lost Cross but already have an ideal replacement in Spedding who has pace to burn  but poor on defence & decision making (he is not alone in that I know) but IMO wasting money bringing a new winger in. Surely a strong replacement centre would be the better move to replace Spedding in that position? Wingers should be the least of our priorities.

I almost forgot we were playing today. Didn’t bother tuning in on the radio, knew full well we’d get beat. So disinterested T the moment. Not only with Widnes but the whole sport.

Is Lawton definitely going to Leigh next year as previously mentioned? He still has a lot to prove and show he has the heart for the game. At least Finnegan showed some faith in him, when others have let him go.

According to an RL journalist on twitter, Lawton isn’t going to Leigh. Whether or not that means he is staying here I have no idea.

I think we must we in different realms of reality Geoff.

I choose not to critisise players but I could make an exception with Adam lawton

He is possibly the laziest player I have seen in the last 30 years.

For some obscure reason for a small pack we play our biggest player on the fringes(maybe this is a coaching decision but none the less it is bizarre)

Matty Smith has worked tirelessly this season and the front row today of Farnworth, hulme and tilleke needed better support

Hulme was playing a amature rugby just a few weeks ago, spirited lad though he is and young Will is developing nicely, but as I say needs a few old heads to guide him forward.

I'd be happy to see Tyler Dupree and Gavin Bennion here in 2022, but all clubs are suffering from funding issues and this season is a write off now anyway

He's not going to change at age 28.He is what he is but as Geoff says he's played a part in our few wins.

Dont see that Spedding is a replacement for Cross, we have the two of them now but only one next year.

Brad Holroyd is more of a like for like replacement for Cross, if the rumour about him signing is accurate.

Another pathetic performance.

We’re clueless in attack, we’re more dangerous in our own 10 than the oppositions.

Finnigan has to be getting more out of these players, regardless if it’s not his squad, it’s nowhere near good enough. Batley and Dewsbury doing the double on us is a disgrace.

We’re losing fans by the week.

There was probably 100 away fans there. Not many more home fans in fairness.

Think some players need to take a long hard look at themselves because they aren't cutting it. Some of them aren't kids any more, and are making basic errors each week.

The three tries conceded were dismal. In attack, forcing the play far too much. Using Lawton and Tyrer as dummy runners constantly and then passing out behind them and running out of room instead of just giving them the ball.

Lawton was one of the better players. Tyrer, Farnworth and Baker must wonder why they bother.

Riley Dean isn't a great half-back by any stretch but he completely outplayed Craven and Lyons, as did Alex Smith who is in his rookie year.

Lawton is a local lad, we've given him another chance and he is playing some of his best rugby. It didn't work out at Salford. Doesn't make much sense to sign for Leigh as they are now 100% going down and we are looking like making a few signings. Unless Degsy is doing what he did with Hood and offering him a good job as well as a playing contract? Hope he stays, one a the few forwards with some size.

This season is a complete write off, If Finnegan is in charge next season i can see it hitting season ticket sales. It might not be his team but it is his coaching, that Widnes team should be beating that Dewsbury team.

Craven has been shocking all season, how many times does he make errors on restarts? He was never good enough for SL, but now he barely looks average in the championship.

Lyons is not now, has never been and will never be good enough to play championship Rugby. If we had signed him on loan from wigan we would be screaming that he needs sending back. Weak in defense, poor decision maker and poor kicking game. The lad just farms the ball out, which most u12s halfbacks are capable of. He should not be at this club next season.

Halifax will teach us a lesson next week, it will be another shocker of a crowd and the while i will be there, i wont enjoy the visit. Im really looking foreword to this season being over.

Not surprised Leigh don`t want him....who would?......look at his contribution today............all the Dewsbury forwards put in the hard graft in attack and tried in defence...Lawton played wide and did...not a lot except give away pens
