I actually quite like Patton when he's on his game ,but like spelly says he's a bit of a gobsh#te when things aren't going his way .. personally if it's an area the club has targeted I'd have much preferred someone like Louis jouffret..ticks every box ..a proper running threat and out of contract come season end ..

Been confirmed on our Facebook page that  "------- has left the club with immediate effect." And............

With Jordy Gibson still to serve three more games of his ban, we're gonna be light in the halves on Sunday, and beyond.

But we've had players leave before, and Patton won't be the last to walk through our exit door, so...........

Do i wish him good luck? Noooooooooooooo way!

I say once more - "If you want loyalty, buy a dog!"

Spelly.

From Bradford Bulls Live Facebook group

Swinton Lions have accepted a transfer fee from Featherstone Rovers for Dec Patton, who has joined the West Yorkshire club until the end of the season. He will then join the Widnes Vikings in 2025.

According to Love Rugby League we are after Lee Gaskell from Bradford as well. Someone must have found the magic money tree.

Unless Coleman can change Patton's ways, he (Patton) doesn't like tackling, being tackled, and yaps too much at the officials.

He also will be a high earner, so we won't be signing him just to sit in the stands as back-up in case Gilmore or Lyons gets injured.

Would he fit into a tight-knit, hard working squad as Coleman is developing.

Why is he leaving Swinton part way through the season.

He is a good kicker, so is Gilmore.

Lyons try against Wakefield was a beauty, he isn't afraid to tackle.

Just my thoughts...

@sunny You have no idea what his earnings  will be at Widnes. That's if he has even signed.

I expect Widnes are not too pleased to have signings announced on the Bradford Fans Facebook page.

Swinton said he's been allowed to leave as he took a pay cut to join them, with a clause in his contract that he can leave if offered more money, so they haven't stood in his way. Featherstone have apparently had cash made available from Paddy Handley and his backers, and according to Yorkshire Live, Widnes are in talks with Dec Patton with nothing signed yet.

I could be absolutely wrong, but it sounds to me that we are talking to halfbacks about next year, which you would expect us to do. Loose forward, centre and halfback being positions we are not well covered at.

Maybe Widnes should give you the job of recruiting as you seem to know so much already

Really not sure about this - yes we need half back cover but not a journeyman like Patton - been here before briefly

also not a team man

what would the cost be for him ?
rather have a centre with pace

anyway let’s beat sheff first

onwards and upwards
