The Bradford Bulls site in its match report of our cup tie states Doro was hit by a "cannonball tackle" that will put Doro out for weeks & it was put on report.
So we may be a player short for a game or two if upheld as dangerous by the disciplinary panel.
Can anyone recall the incident as I do not recall an on report sign by the referee, unless of course the camera missed it?
Yeah saw the incident..tbh I didn't think it was a bad tackle .. injury seemed to come from his leg twisting under himself as he went to ground ..looked like the ankle n not the knee
If he does get a ban tho then langtrees return to fitness is very timely as he'll most likely be the replacement
It was Rhodri Lloyd who was put on report, he does come into the tackle low and from the side with contact around the knee, hi will be banned no doubt.
He also went to him twice and apologised, the second time as he was going off👍
The new tackling protocols will encourage defenders to tackle lower. I personally think that the 'Cannonball' tackle will become more common, even though not malicious, as teams want to get 3 men in the tackle to slow the ruck.
It may become the new 'nature of the beast'

Spoke to Eamon O'Carroll last night at the Jack Owens Testimonial gig. He said it's a bad injury, expects Doro to be out for 10 weeks, he thought there was no malice in Lloyd's tackle, and that he just 'Got it wrong, clumsy'. He thinks he'll probably get a ban.

Only player from the game that seems to have had any disciplinary issues was Lloyd roby who got a grade B dangerous throw/tackle charge and was fined £125. Seems abit excessive considering the tackle wasn’t that bad.
What about the tackle from Asiata tonight?
Absolutely nothing wrong with that, yet he got 10 mins. So, you can't tackle round the legs now, you can't tackle round the head and shoulders. There's about a 30 cm strip that's ok.
Joke. All this is ruining the game.
Wasn't the point at issue that Asiata didn't attempt a legal tackle, ie wrap his arms round the Saints player?
He merely threw himself at the opponents knee hitting it with his shoulder; his arms being down his own side rather than round his opponents body/legs.
It was, in effect, a shoulder charge on his opponents knee.
The TV commentators weren't happy about it.
Lloyd did attempt a "proper" tackle.
The commentators were huffing and puffing about one tackle that showed a shoulder making contact just below the hip!!!!! Then they wondered if it was a foul?
Perhaps a 30 cm wide green strip on every team's shirts could solve the problem - below the arm pit and stopping at the hip - that would show the OK tackle area!!!!!
