A wins a win

we played better in the second half in a competitive game. The returning players definitely helped. I have a feeling we may not be keeping patten which would explain him being dropped when Gilmore is fit.

id like to see Bennison and roberts sign for next season

Correct selection, young roberts better @ 6 than patten

his brother had a great game as did hall - I just wonder if he was fit for the whole season it may have been very different

Defence has improved dramatically in the last 2 games and we are starting to create more

edge outstanding today, and gregson actually was worth the shirt - but we still tried our best to give it away !
wonder whether maizen will be out next week - hope not he had another great game
let’s beat the flat caps next week and then go unbeaten to season end, scrape into 6th and win the playoffs !

@sunny absolutely 👍 but I think he is looking for a full time contract, if we can offer him one then sue he’s a good player at this level

Yes if we can keep Ben that would be great, but SL clubs already sniffing

with our current back row that takes some beating - Bibby was good today too

we just need a bit more cash and you never know !

Sounded like we were trying to throw it away but glad we managed to hold on!

A resilience to keep in the game, something we haven’t seen much of since last season and some lovely sounding long range tries! Wonderful what pace can do.

up the chemics

Maizen said talking to some of us after the match , said he owas alright, and came off with cramp. I think k him and Edge were our best players today.
A good second half today. We could have won a lot easier if we’d taken our chances, 3tries ruled out by dropping the ball over the try line.
Strange decision ruling out Bibby’s  try, a lot of the Widnes fans stood behind the posts, thought he had got the ball down, but the ref disallowed it, but gave us a penalty. It would have been easier to tell if Barrow had spent some money on white paint for the lines, which you could hardly see.

Benty didn't play as he has stitches above his eyes, which I believe don't come out until Tuesday. That said, a week or two rest will do him no harm.

Edgy showed some terrific pace for his try and the one he made for Gregson. Gilmore did what Gilly does. Maizen looked to be troubled with his hamstring.

Onwards and Upwards.

Paulie xx

I watched the game on the Barrow Live Stream. The commentary was a bit amateurish, but the commentators did admit that it was their first time and they did struggle a bit. Why can't we run a similar live stream, unless it is thought that it would impact on attendance at the games.

There was good football played with decent tries and tackling was strong from both teams. I am biased, but this was a better game to watch than many from SL this season.

Widnes deserved to win, but we need to really convert line pressure to tries. We just seem to stick to one tactic of trying to barge our way over, even when they were down to 12 men.

Yes when they were down to 12 men , we had 3 consecutive sets of 6 on their line, but couldn’t score, like you say, we kept trying to barge over, instead of throwing it out and using the extra man. I know we came close , with Lawton and Fozzard losing the ball over the line, but you would think it would be better and more tiring for the opposition, to move it back and to along the line.

@frankg I also watched it via the stream on lounges tv and thought the quality of the stream was good quality but yes the commentary did lack at times, constantly getting names wrong but for £6.50 can’t complain.

I’m just happy to get to watch the game, although 7am kickoff on a Sunday isn’t ideal. The club should organize a stream for extra revenue.

@mckviking I’m sure in his interview with James, Stuart Murphy said the club planned for 5 streams this year (was it to gain a minuscule IMG quarter of a point) to see how the take up was and if it was worth the money?

Think they pinpointed 5 games where they knew attendance would be poor (either home fans, away fans or both) to trial it on.

i do hope it has worked as I can’t get to every game anymore so would like to pick and choose games to stream rather than listening on radio.

no offence to Ian Chisnall and James
