Widnes Vikings are pleased to announce the appointment of Andrew Horabin to the Board of Directors.
Horabin, 50, joins the Board as a Director and Shareholder following clearance of due diligence by the club and the Rugby Football League.
He is a lifelong Widnes fan, lives in the town, and serves as Company Director at Affordable Contract Services, having founded the company. He has over 20 years of experience helping businesses in the UK.
Having previously worked as a ball boy, turnstile operator, and programme seller at Naughton Park, Andy is well integrated with the club, the town, and the people of Widnes.
On his appointment, Horabin said: “I’m a lifelong Widnes fan, first and foremost. I’ve lived in Widnes all my life, and I’m proud to say I’m Widnes born and bred.
“I run my own building and maintenance business, where we always try to employ local people from our town. Supporting and helping our local community is something I’ve always been passionate about.”
He added: “Becoming a shareholder in the club has been a lifelong dream and ambition of mine. It makes both me and my family incredibly proud to be able to support Widnes Vikings in this way.
“I’ve witnessed the club go through the highs and lows over the years, and I’m committed to playing my part in driving us forward to more momentous occasions.
“My ultimate goal is to help get Widnes back into Super League, with the backing of our loyal supporters and local businesses. I’m looking forward to meeting everyone and working together to make that dream a reality.”
We look forward to introducing Andy to the Vikings faithful soon.
Hope he has plenty of cash 😍
That's what we need !!!! Welcome aboard Andrew!!!!!!!!!
Good lad is Twinny. I wish him all the luck in the WV RL World.
Paulie xx
Great to see him on board the more the merrier I would say. 👌💪👍
It’s always a positive when money is invested into the club, how many board members do we now have? I hope he can encourage other businesses to inject more money and increase the players budget.
it’s probably more likely to get 10 £10k investors than 1 big one.
A great guy both him and Neil his brother are top lads. Played rugby with him as a kid and will want success for Widnes. He wont be loaded like Beaumont, but more hands means more connections to other businesses. It has been difficult but we need to keep pro active rather than give up. 😎
Who’s the one that’s left the day before this guy joined?
Joy Morton - what was her responsibilities etc
Always welcome a top lad and 30k that comes with him welcome aboard andrew
Good luck Mr Twin, make sure you don’t let your heart rule your head.
Good luck mate🏁
Has he bought out the departing director
I'm pretty sure he is the brother in law of Paul Noone too.
It seems according to company law a director does not need to hold shares in a company. In the company accounts there's a confirmatory statement dated 20/5/24. It gives the names of those holding shares at the time the statement was made. Joy Morton is not down as a shareholder.Has he bought out the departing director
