"Abdul was massively overweight which is unprofessional ....

"

Of course that's true Spike, but I really hope that players aren't going to be judged on their appearance and size, rather than their on-field performance.

I don’t think his on the field performances have been as good as people have made out. Oldham away he was brilliant but it goes without saying, he was up for man of steel a few years ago, he’s playing against part timers and he is nowhere near the level he was a few years ago.

Regardless of how he looks, he is clearly not fit and isn’t putting 100% in.

@johnnyboy The Sheffield move makes sense as Jordan Lilly is out injured, although its a trek to Sheffield. Sensible that its a loan as from previous experience sometimes we dont get to keep the Warrington players that long. He needs to play every week as well with being out for 12 months.

We won't see JA here again if some FB comments are to be believed and although Coleman's taken some flack, if he's not pulling his weight in training then it's absolutely the right call to get rid of him.

if I was going in to work and taking shortcuts or not bothering doing things I'd be fully expected to be shown the door by my manager aswell.

im with Coleman on this one now the facts seem to be coming out.

@widiot fully agree ....I'll admit I was vocal on his omission but with the information that's slowly leaked out the gaffer is 100% right in the course of action he's taking ..simply cannot have any single player not towing the line that the rest do

Its absolute madness to let a half this talented slip through our fingers in this way. I understand he might not be the best trainer, but he's the best player. The situation should have been managed with more subtlety. Top coaches in sport apply high emotional intelligence to skilfully handle challenging, but mercurial players.

@appletonvillageviking you cannot preach a team of hard work and players earning their shirt and then allow one player to compeltley skip out on these morals and still play.

how does that affect everyone else in the squad? It is terrible for team morale.

coleman might not make the best selections every week but he’s certainly right on this one. JA is good but he ain’t that good when his mind is clearly elsewhere and not 100% on rugby

I have had a good think about things, and even though he is a great talent Abdul is well out of shape, even compared to our prop forwards. But is still a good player to have in our squad, but I definitely prefer Leon Hayes over Abdul. Dury is still out on Coleman but has he only just realized needs a running halfback that takes the line on? Next Alan Coleman be saying he needs a few big props and if he looked at this message board he realize we have banged the drum many times. Is this a master stroke Langtree at prop? 🤣 We all want Alan to succeed because this will mean Widnes doing well. 👍 ❤️

@appletonvillageviking He wasn't missed on Sunday...Hayes played very well...It's incredibly sad it's not worked out for Jordan...But it looks like he can't gather the motivation to get in shape....Talent wise he's still a Super League player.

@begg we can all agree Hayes is a better at attacking the line as a running threat than abdull because he lacks fitness, I felt langtree played well enough to keep his position if needed at prop. Yes we need 2 more big props as that’s a position we have lacked in for years, we must understand this is PT rugby league and if a player isn’t from widnes they will have less loyalty to the Club, unless a player like jj for example who came through our academy system and lives in widnes

Hopefully this new foundation produces a few more JJ type players. Taylor and Sergent look like prospects for us and with Warrington having so many halfbacks this can definitely help us. I understand a difficult job for Coleman, but with teams like Oldham cutting the cloth next year and North Wales possibly not around there should be a bigger pool of players. Rambo and Kirk did not work out so possibly an Aussie like McWhirter from the French elite league? Most of our players I would keep part time and some should be offered a few years to keep them for longer. Anyway lets hope for a good 1895 Cup run and a play offs run, which will help our budget for next year.

We want teams like Warrington, Leigh and Saints to do well as players wont get an opportunity and will for Widnes. Do not get me wrong I prefer our own players but a few from the fulltime environment helps in our quality. I would not mind Max Wood type again. 😂👍

I like most fans was excited by the initial signing of JA, as I'm sure AC was too. Sadly, as things panned out, Allan, for the 2nd season in a row, had his finger's burnt, by ex-SL halves (Patton & Abdull) for one reason and another. Forget about Patton. Jordan Abdull had not played the game for over a year (for whatever reasons), was vastly overweight in November when pre-season started, And 6 months down the line, has not dropped an ounce. No player can be accommodated just because he can put spin on a ball when he kicks it deep. He can't tackle, because he can't get close enough to make the tackle. Every player has to do their bit in defence. From what I've seen of him, he's bang average, probably because of some of the things listed above. The official line is he's on a months loan at SE, but I doubt we'll ever see him again. I could be wrong, who knows?

I hope he gets his head together, and overcomes his demons, and gets a bit more out of the Game we all love.

@appletonvillageviking

Voted for by the fans, who are 'holding out for a hero'. If you'd have asked the players to vote, he wouldn't have got anywhere near that accolade. On that you'll have to trust me.
