That would mean only 5 to come in! All would need to be outstanding to improve the team to any great extent. Too many ordinary players retained.

Condon must be on a fair bit so money must be there but Geoff is right the newcomers have to be starters not squad players next year is a chance to challenge but with a similar squad I sense more disappointment and disillusion amongst the fans

@vikingfox71 I've heard Leigh have helped in that process in getting condon over  here ...whether that's financially Im not sure ...but talk came out very early when Ben arrived that a deal was pretty much agreed that he'd be a Leigh player in 2026 on the proviso that he'd proven his recovery from his accident ...would make sense because we stated after lannon was let go the club stated "they'd been offered an opportunity the club couldn't turn down "...I actually think there's a strong relationship between us and Leigh probably via the gaffer being close to degsy....also suspect no coincidence that will Roberts is rumoured to be Leigh bound ....and talk Leigh may well be our DR partner in 2026 ....I know people have different views but for me for the club to push that top 3 or 4 under whatever format we're playing next season....players like gregson ..bent ... langtree shouldn't have got new deals ...harsh on Danny .. class on his day but his body is clearly breaking up and won't play enough...bent likewise ... workhouse in defence but couldn't break a paper bag ....and sorry just don't see the merits of gregson whatsoever...adds very little and bizarre call getting a new deal ....100% be delighted if proven wrong but I'd suspect a future of being nearly there ...but not quite

I would try and sign Bennison and Bibby from Saints and Huddersfield. 

Will Roberts is a strange one as we had him on a season loan but he didn't make the 21 for the last 3 games despite being our best half back. Hopefully we can sign him.

Rumours I've heard are Jay Chapelhow, Owen Farnworth and Joe Mellor. Bit of a Widnes reunion! 

That would give us 23 players so need 2 more. My concern is the back line needs freshening up and lacks pace. Bennison is good at Championship level, Joe Edge had a good season and hopefully Maizen has the benefit of a good pre-season. For me we lack a quality centre and a really fast winger. 

Half back could be Mellor, Gilmore and Roberts, if we can get Roberts. 

Definitely lack a couple of props to replace Reilly and Kirk, Bibby could be one, but we need another. Also need a 2nd second rower with size to replace Lloyd and Condon. Langtree and Roberts both solid but we need to add more size to complement Lawton.

If we have Bent in the front row, Roberts and Langtree in the 2nd row and Gregson/Hall at loose, that's too small for the Championship in my opinion. 

@dan1 100% need to address prop depth and the half backs ..a ball running 6 is an absolute must ...if only we had one on the pitch at fax 👀....so frustrating watching your halves not take the line on ...just recieving the ball..standing still not under pressure and just wanging it ....there's gettable halves that fit that profile ... meadows at bulls...jouffret at fax to name a couple ...they add a running threat ....even hanneghan at hunslet .....even old style any sides halves should be chalk and cheese...one that can kick one that can run ....weve had no running threat all season...in fact haven't since craven managed to not do his calf ..
