First competitive game in over a year and we won. Good stuff boys. Onto the next one and hopefully another win.
Thought it worth mentioning as there seems to be an awful lot of stuff at the moment that isn’t really about the game. Just saying.
A good win, but game spoiled once they (deservedly) had a player sent off - and lucky not to have another sent off later in the game.
Credit to Widnes, they played a good open running game and the young players - Else, Tilleke and Wilde - not looking out of place when they came off the bench. In the absence of Tomkins, I would use Else at hooker and put Baker at loose forward - what a decent signing Baker has been.
Good to see Widnes back with a win and should see a win over Whitehaven.
