Got to the ground at 2.15, queue was long then. Wonder whether the RFL would want answers if it happens again.

Peace and love, and happiness and stuff!

North stand was horrific to be honest. We arrived at 2:45 and queues were going both ways to each end of the ground.

in the strange world we live in, are the turnstiles operated by club staff or council staff?

You used to be able to scan the season ticket yourself on the way in. The manual scanners obviously take too long.  North stand cash on the day can walk straight in, they then opened the gates for people that had bought tickets to walk in to reduce the queue.  Meaning season ticket holders had to wait the longest to get in.

One other point that is the council not the club is they only have 1 catering counter open in the North stand this season. Im previous years they have had them all open. With about 2,000 fans in the North stand the queue at half time is ridiculous.

At the last Monday meeting (On WTV) Phil Finney mentioned that last year ticketing and season tickets were a farce. People  were able to get in on a Tesco club card and people were buying kids tickets for adults etc. It appears that every ticket now is scanned singularly to ensure the “correct” ticket is with the “correct” person. Years ago kids went in one gate and adults another; honestly now I could not do that with our five year old grandson he has to come in with us. There is also one way around this and that’s pay on the gate as there is no que

Was this why the kick off was delayed yesterday? Imagine what it will be like when we play a team that brings some supporters with them, instead of the 20-30 that Batley and London have brought . There was even a queue for the pre season friendlies.

I walked past at 1.45pm and there was a queue then!

To be honest, even with paper tickets in the past, the operators seem to take an awful long time to rip the ticket and then activate the turnstile. Speed is of the essence.

Might be worth popping down to the ground a little bit earlier next week, ’til the Stadium sort out the scanners.

The use of phones to scan tickets ?????? Most places eg racecourses which have far greater numbers use a hand held scanner Takes a second unlike the stadium turnstile people who take ages to scan one ticket…………….very simple solution and not expensive. Get it sorted !!!!!!

How much do these scanners cost Owl? And does this then require some costly software package to work them or gather the data?

genuine question as you suggest in your post that it is cheap and easy solution.

Thinking about the scanning of the tickets, the problem seems to be that the phones take an age to focus on the card. I wondered if they might work better if the phone was mounted on a small wooden frame with the card then inserted in a slot below it? This would mean the phone and card would be in one position at the right focal distance and perhaps speed it up?
