Rochdale on Sunday

Not really a fan of friendlies, but with it being the start of the new Tim Sheens era and a host of new players plus trialists to witness for the first time, I am looking forward to getting along to Rochdale on Sunday and supporting the lads. Rochdale always a ground I enjoy attending too.

Any more of the die hards on here going along?

Hopefully the start of a season where we do better than expected.

Happy New Year

DLM

I’m going. Not really sure what to expect in terms of the line up but could be more interesting than the average friendly. Think some of the trialists will get a run out.

I’m going via Halifax, so if anyone sees a car with widnes flags going past the Rochdale turn off , I haven’t missed the turn off😁

I have heard it will be a reserve team rather than the main squad, not sure how many new or establised players will be on show. Was thinking of going but I'll wait to see a squad I think.

None of our 1-17 in the squad, I assume saving them for Car next week. 4 trialists playing, never heard of them but I know one is Paul Hulmes son?

Just checked, Hulme is a hooker and son of Paul Hulme, Wood is also a hooker from Rochdale and younger brother of Wakefield hooker Josh Wood. Case is a centre/second rower from Rochdale and Williams is a full back that got injured while playing under Sheens at Salford.

Williams was highly rated at Salford, sheens took him to HKR as well but he never made an appearance as far as I'm aware due to his injury

If he is over it and it's stable he could be a useful acquisition
