A cynic would say the RFL were shrewd and sent a lamb to the slaughter, knowing next season the promoted team would have a better chance.
That of course assumes competence from them in some form, so likely pie in the sky!
What idiot decided to put Leigh in Super League ahead of them? Absolute waste of time for everybody involved.
I think it was convenience more than anything, having a team based in the UK who were likely to complete their fixtures rather than going for an overseas club in the midst of covid.
You would have thought with Catalan playing in SL, they would have put Toulouse in and they could have had a French Derby

I think it was decided on by the other Super League Clubs based on the acceptance of Derek Beaumont to receive £1 million pound less Central Funding than the other 11 Super League Clubs. Financial Self interest rules as per normal.
I agree with you of course Toulouse should have been in before Leigh.
I disagree, Leigh have an owner who backs up his mouth with his wallet. Don’t get me wrong Toulouse, should be in SL but it all boils down to this ‘criteria’ nonsense. Look at the state of Cas’ and Wakeys grounds, look at the shady goings on at Salford and Huddersfield have about 30 fans! Leigh are way ahead of those clubs in terms of stadia and backing (Davy at Hudds being the exception to the rule!) It irks me when you read on the interweb about Wakeys ground redevelopment, it’s going to be interesting when Powell takes over the shower up the road next year, what’ll happen to Cas, their fans are up in arms about Radfords appointment.

I don't think it was Leigh specific, I'm fairly sure they made the call about central funding prior to the application process.
Best case scenario for me is Wakefield get relegated this year, Toulouse go up.
Can't you ask questions about what other people have put in their posts now James?

You can, but I'm sick of deleting your nonsense bickering to be honest.

Get cracking on the PM function and then the bickering will be kept to a certain few 👍
I've seen 'em in the flesh twice recently, and I just can't see TO XIII, not playing SL football next term.
They put 70 past you a couple of weeks ago, and then yesterday registered only four less against us.
We're not (by far) the strongest opposition they'll meet I agree, but apart from maybe Fev, I still don't think anyone will trouble 'em.
They have genuine quality right across the park, and in my opinion, deserve to dine at the top table.
Spelly.
That’s not a surprise really given the money they have invested
the sad thing to me is I cannot go and watch Widnes at the stad Toulouse
I really enjoy Toulouse, so maybe next season I will go and sit in the home crowd to see them hammer the dire

1) I would suggest wisely invested.
2) Me too. Yesterday was our away game, and I'd have loved to have been over there, instead of at Heywood Road.
3) There's not much doubt they'll be going to Wire, but so far, it would appear unlikely, they'll have the LSV on their fixture list, although I'd much prefer it if they missed out on a visit to the Pinks! Biased moi?

It was 24-18 at half time and Swinton were in it.
Once Toulouse got clear. It was full time professionals against smaller part time players.
I would be surprised if Toulouse did not finish top, very surprised if they did not finish in a top 2 probably with Featherstone.
But they can be beaten in a one off game. I would back probably the Toronto team that came up against them and they would finish at or very close to the bottom in Super League.
