Toronto already at the cap and asking for dispensation!

Makes sense now the lack of signings. Also shows in the Championship last year they were playing part time sides while operating at the full SL cap.

Worry for them is McDermott has admitted they may already even be over it and as its a 'live' system they will have to carefully manage it over the next few weeks.

Only a 23 man squad, 22 really as one is on loan to Featherstone. SBW not fit and going back to New Zealand for the birth of his child mid November. A couple more injured at the moment so they had 18 players available for the Cas friendly. An aging squad with all that travel, they wont be able to raise a 17 a couple of months in when injury and suspension hits.

But how can they ask for dispensation? If they only have 23 players and have spent up tough, its the rules of the competition. To ask for exemption before the season has even started is bad planning and management.

They have signed SBW but as he's a marquee signing only £150k counts on the cap, Singleton from Leeds and Cunningham from London.

Ashton Sims has retired, Beswick has signed for Newcastle and Brierley and Rawsthorn have both signed for Hull KR. Other than the extra money they are paying SBW I don't even think they are spending anymore money this season than they did last year in the Championship.

I would love for them to get relegated and the whole farce to end.

If Toronto fail, then the ridiculous NYC and Ottawa nonsense can go too.

Also, love to see egg on a few faces in the RL media.

I don’t want them relegated if they enter our league again ! I really dislike TW and their coach. Im fed up hearing about them tbh. They seem keen to claim victim status before a ball is kicked. All cash & no class.

Reading today that they want it due to high living costs in Toronto!

Not like they live there is it?

Can't see them getting anywhere with that

It can't be more expensive than London can it ?

To be fair, I think it probably is an expensive city....but they are not based there 365 days of the year, that is the issue surely.

When is their first match there: April?

But of course, Widnes fans were really awful for booing these poor, deserving underdogs...…...

I think they'll get whatever they want.

As I understand it, it is the RFL who are keen on expansion but the other SL clubs aren’t too keen on the Wolfpack's involvement.

If they are kicked out of SL, I don’t think that they’d want to play in the Championship again.

If they've reached the cap or are very close to it surely they should incentivise some of their players to reach a certain number of games or score a number of tries for example  They could also improve the contracts of squad players half way through the season and then claim they didn't realise these measures would take them over the cap limit. I'm sure the authorities would take a very lenient view and none of the other clubs, especially St Helens and Leeds, would kick up a fuss.

They are actually asking to be allowed to spend as much as everyone else as they have been given a smaller cap
