Lions 16-64 York, at a sunny and almost cloudless Heywood Road this aft. The scoreline does the visitors no favours at all, as they cut us to ribbons at times, especially in the first half. Injuries again didn’t aid our situation, and we were down to eighteen fit players at kick off, with Martyn Ridyard adding to the woes, when he hobbled off prior to the interval, but……….. I’m not using that as an excuse, coz we left gaping holes in defence, and some of the tackling was awful. We were woeful to be honest, and I think that’s the most we’ve conceded in a game at Heywood Road. So what’s gonna happen against you mob next week eh? With what I’ve read about your recent performances, coupled with how we’ve (not) shaped up of late, anything’s possible! Spelly.

It could be a 50-50 draw with the standard of defence of both teams. I will be going for a Widnes win - but I did in the Batley game and Dewsbury and ............!!!!!

We've signed centre Nico Rizzelli on a two week loan from Saints.

We're thin on numbers through injury, so I would imagine that he'll be in our line up at your gaff come Sunday.

Is Ridyard likely to be fit for Sunday?

Sorry mate, only just noticed your post.

He's in the 21 strong squad, so hopefully (for us) he's fit to play.

Embarrassed!

I think we were the better team early doors, but couldn't break through, and then after you scored, it was just a case of how many you'd win by!

Our heads dropped long before the end, and some of the gaps we left, you could've driven a bus through!

I'm not gonna use low on numbers as an excuse, coz you had guys on the treatment table as well, The simple fact is that from about 15 minutes in, we were woeful!

We're adrift at the bottom, and that's the third game on the bounce, where we've not troubled the scorers pre-oranges!

Summat needs to change, and very quickly, or trips to Llanelli, and Wrexham will be on the fixture list next term!

Just back from a long day at Heywood Road. Had to be there by 9.00am, and left around 6.20pm.

Our game finished Lions 22-23 Bradford, and a Danny Brough drop goal with about 20 mins left, proved to be the difference, and will prob be gamebreaker in League Express tomorrow.

It was 18-10 to them at the interval, then they scored first after the re-start, extending it to 22-10.

Whilst we we down to twelve men, following Waterworth's sin-binning, Brough banged over the one pointer. putting 'em three scores clear, but................

Unlike last week however, we didn't throw in the towel, and quickly scored two converted tries, meaning we were just one point astray, with nine minutes still left on the clock, but........

Bradford's game management from then on was first class, we didn't look like scoring again, and if I'm honest, the Bulls prob just about shaded it over the eighty mins.

A hugely improved performance from the one at your gaff (that wasn't difficult) but the table tells no lies, and we're sat on a P5, L5 record, and remain the basement boys.

Next up for us is Dews at home tomorrow week. and all being well, there'll be fans there as well.

Your game was totally different, and Toulouse are a Super League team in waiting, full of quality footballers. They are also totally professional, and were tackling at the end, as though it was still 0-0. Our chairman said to me, that it was the best performance he's seen from a Championship outfit. Which is one  helluva compliment.

We play Toulouse in a fortnight. It's their home game, but will be played over here. It won't be at Heywood Road however, as it's not available on the Sunday. We could've staged it the day before, but Olympique have to quarantine for a week when they go home, and next Sunday, they're at 'Haven, so the following Saturday would be 24 hours to soon.

A minor correction!

Apparently it was Jordan Lilley who dropped the goal, and not Danny Brough!

Change of plan!

Our scheduled away game with Toulouse, will after all be staged at Heywood Road.

It'll be on Saturday week, with a 3.00pm start.

I believe Olympique have been given dispensation by the French authorities to play within the normal week's quarantine time between matches.

As I mentioned previously, the ground is not available on the following day, and the French guys are up at 'Haven this coming Sunday.

I would have loved to have gone over there for my fifth trip, and it would have been another new stadium to add to my CV, but c'est la vie, and...................

I doubt if I'll be going next term either, coz even if we stay up, I reckon Ford and Co will be dining at the top table come 2022.

We're only five games into the campaign, but I reckon Dews at home on Monday, has a "must win" scenario about it  for us!

They've had an odd start so far, like winning (according to comments on here) more than comfortably at your gaff, yet last weekend, getting stuffed out of sight at home to 'Fax.

Even if we pull it off, we'll still be bottom come what may, as you're already three points better off than us, and you host York the day before, so it's a massive fixture for my mob!

It's been pushed back to Monday, so fans will be finally allowed back, which'll hopefully play in our favour.

COME ON YOU LIONS!!!

If it’s any consolation when Dewsbury won “comfortably” at our gaff we were absolute rubbish. Set completion very low, no discipline and poor defence. Really don’t think they looked anything special, would certainly rate them below Batley. You’ve probably got a fighting chance against them. I’d agree you can’t really afford to lose this one even so early in the season.

Lions 18-20 Rams this evening, and to be honest, the scoreline flatters us!

It was (deservedly) 16-0 to them at the break, coz we were poo! We only woke up with about quarter of an hour left.

What proved to be the gamebreaker was when we gave away a silly pen, gobbed it, got marched another ten metres, and a kicker of Sykes' quality was not gonna miss from there.

We scored two converted tries late on, to pull it back to a couple of points, but as in the Bradford game, we didn't look like scoring again.

P6, L6, and the dreaded "R" word is hanging over our heads big style!

Next up for us? The hugely daunting prospect to Toulouse on Saturday!

I hope that you and your mob know, spelly, that by losing you completely messed up my entry in the Prediction League!
