The Geronimo that I know about was a great leader and fighter. Don’t know anything about the new Swinton signing except he is a Kiwi.
I don't think many Swinton fans had heard of him till yesterday mate, but.........
What a moniker to have eh?
His name has endless possibilities for songs!
Really looking forward to seeing him in a Lions' shirt.

Spelly I see Adam Lawton played 4 games for you in 2019. How did he shape up?

Can't remember to be honest mate! Sorry!

He played against us in 2019, can’t remember if it was at Swinton or Rochdale, he played quite well for 10-20 minutes, then he went off knackered! Hopefully he’ll be fitter at Widnes.
That has to be a 'must'!!!
20 years ago to this very day?
Clue - It's not the happiest of memories!

Yeah mate. Lions 10-106 Leeds. A grim day!
One bit of light relief that afternoon, was the scoreboard. Gigg Lane had an electronic one, but it only went as far as double digits, and at the end it read: Lions 10-06 Leeds.
Iestyn Harris landed 17 out of 18 conversions. If he'd been a little less accurate, we could poss have avoided the ton, but c'est la vie mes amis!

Saw some good games at Station Road, notably a GB v Aus when they ran riot over GB. Don't know what year that was, but I think it was in the 1950's. I also remember going from Widnes to Station Road on my Motor Bike with my then girl friend, now my wife of 59 years, to watch the A teams play each other. Poured down with rain all the way there, during the game and all the way home. To cap it all Swinton beat us. Happy days.

I reckon the test match you're on about was in '63, when the Convicts put 50 on us.
Your comment about the A team made me smile, coz one reserve game against you mob at Station Road that I have (painful) memories of is one Saturday afternoon, when you had three sent off, and still beat us!

It could well have been 1963, my memory must be playing tricks but then to many years have gone past. i remember it was a "cricket" score. If it was that game wehad already been married since 1961, time flies when you are having fun. Good luck with the next season with the Lions (except against the Vikings) but all the rest.
