Dear me spelly, are they trying to give this game away ?
discipline is lax to say the least

if you can hang on and get back to 13 you may have a chance - 6-14 at mo

Lax is not the word mate!

13-7 to them in the pen count, and at one point, it was 5-2 to us!

One or two iffy decisions went against us, which even my 'Ornits mate thought we came out of the wrong side on, but the sin-binning was silly, and cost us big style.

So that's two Wembley exits in less than a week, and..................

As the old saying goes "We can now concentrate on the league!"

A trip to West Cumbria next week for the opener, as 'Haven await us, but baling out at Keswick on the way up, for the best fish and chips in the World!

Just back from a cold and damp Rec where it finished............

'Haven 18-16 Lions, after we led 14-0!

We did our usual trick of conceding almost on half time, and they (helped with our lack of discipline) bossed the second half.

A fracas just before the final hooter ended with two of each side being yellowed.  It was that late, the game didn't re-start.

Not for the first or second time, it's P1, L1 to start the campaign!

Congrats on your win, and see at yours on Good Friday!

No game for our men this weekend, but the Lionesses are hosting FC's ladies, so that's my RL fix for Sunday sorted.

Our girls opened their campaign with a win at Leigh East last Sunday whilst we were up at the Rec.

We've signed two Leythers on loan.

Louis Brogan makes a welcome return, and he's joined by Jacob Gannon.

I would imagine that they'll both be in our line-up at your gaff on Friday.

Gonna watch Leythers v Pies on the box, then straight to bed, as I'm flying out of Brum tomorrow morning at 8:30 for Toulouse, and the third different venue we'll have played 'em at over there.

COME ON YOU LIONS!!!!

Great win for Swinton today, spelly!

You have, though, messed up my predictions yet again.

When I select you to win you lose, and yet like today you win when I have you down to lose.

That's rugby for you.....

Hello from Toulouse, where it finished.......

Olympique 14-20 Lions, and what a way to get the first W in the column this term!

10-4 at oranges, and we stretched that to 20-4, before a late surge from them, made it a nervy last few minutes, but....

We.dug in against FT opposition, to gain a deserved, and memorable win over the hosts.

Les Lions c'est magnifque!

And it completed that hat-trick for me, with the Warriors winning at the Bunnies, and the Pinks coming second at Cas.

I've had (plenty of) worse weekends!

Just chilling out today, after yesterday's superb win!

Nowhere near as hot as last year, but still pleasant enough to wear shorts.

Question - Has any team won twice in Toulouse as we've just done?

I don't know the answer, but there can't be many.

Fev perhaps? They won a play-off game there a season or so back, but have they won in the league?

One thing again last night infuriated me, just as it did at Newcastle last term. Twice we had a guy on the floor receiving treatment for an injury, and the PA guy saw fit to play music over the stadium airwaves! At best, it's thoughtless, but I'd call it sick!

Been back in Monton about half an hour after a perfect weekend!

Weather great, we won, flights on time, Warriors won in the NRL, and the Pinks came second at Cas!

Flew from Brum, direct to Toulouse on Ryanair, and booked the "Meet and Greet" parking. It's the tops! You give 'en a ring when you're about fifteen mins away, and they're awaiting you. Hand the keys over, and it's about two mins to the terminal. On the return journey, bell 'em again as you clear customs, and your car's there forr you. It's a bit dearer, but I would highly recommend it!

Unbeaten (so far) Sheff are next up for us on Sunday, so hopefully, we can kick on from that superb performance across la Manche, and give Aston and Co a bloody nose!

Can't see it being a full house on Sunday!

Their fans don't travel in great numbers to start with, but..............

The game co-incides with the Manchester Marathon, and the route goes straight across the top of Heywood Road, so getting there by car will be difficult to say the least!

My former boss lives about a mile from the ground, so I'm parking up at his gaff, and walking from there.

Can we kick on from that superb show in Toulouse? They're on P3, L3, so it'll be far from easy!

Lions 4-22 Sheff, and the score-line tells no lies!

Aston's Army are a well drilled side, and their defence today was exo!

We (yet again) conceded right on the half-time hooter, and...............

To rub it in big style, former Lion Jack Hansen, scored their last try from an interception just before the end!

P4, W1 now, so it's not looking good at present!

Sheff, like Wakey, and you mob, are P4, W4.

Dews at home on Sunday, and it's a must win game for us, but I'm sure, they'll be thinking exactly the same.

We're both on P4, W1. L3, and not good enough to retain middle tier status.

The win in Toulouse was a bonus, but we threw it away at the Rec, and also led early on at your gaff, where not for the first time, our discipline was awful.

Roby and Bennion are out injured for around 6/8 weeks, which is not good news, as they'd both be in the seventeen every week if fit.

COME ON YOU LIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lions 50-22 Dews, and a great win for us, taking us to a nose-bleed seventh on the ladder!

Dec Patton was superb, and showed what a quality footballer he is throughout the contest, in particular with his pin-point kick for (DR) Ritson's second, and our final try, before adding the extras to it from the touchline to bring up the half-century as he hooter sounded.

Apparently, today was the first time we've hit the fifty mark in Championship football.

We're at the Shay next week, and it'll be interesting how they bonce back after their stuffing by Sheff today.

Fev won in Toulouse in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2019 and 2023, which isn't to detract from a stunning win for Swinton!
