Good result for Swindon fans, and good for the game on this side of the Pennines too.

Welcome back to the Championship Spelly!

Thanks mate!

Lions 16-10 Donny this aft, and..................

Naughton Park here we come!

It was faaaaaaaaaaar from easy, in fact they put us through torture for 79 minutes, until Jack Hansen scored the clincher, to send the Swinton fans wild with delight!

They bossed the first half, opening the scoring, and we were relieved to go in at oranges with the teams tied at 6-6.

After the interval, the visitors nudged in front at 10-6, but with about ten minutes left, we responded to lead 12-10 as Donny tired, and Hansen's touchdown almost on the hooter, sent us up.

Now the hard work starts, coz we're under no illusions at all that we'll be he bookie's faves to go straight back down, and twelve months hence, anything than third bottom will have yours truly turning cartwheels, but...............

I've had worse afternoons, and I'm gonna be glowing for a day or two yet!

Spelly

Look forward to 2 points on Good Friday 😉

In all seriousness, first game I ever went to was Widnes v Swinton so I am genuinely delighted that we will play them again next year....

Hope you have a good season, except when you play the mighty Chemics!!

Thank you for all the good wishes, and I've calmed down a bit now.

Am looking forward to the fixtures being announced, but I pretty confident that I can pencil in either a trip to your gaff or welcoming you on Good Friday!

My girlfriend says she'll come with me to Toulouse if we play 'em in the summer, but if it's early season, I'll only have to book one spot on the plane! 🤣

The World Cup now awaits, and as well as attending a shed load of games during the comp itself, I'll be at Pinksville on Friday for England v Fiji, and at our place on Saturday, when Wales host Lebanon.

Spelly.

He is a hard working grafter, spelly. A much better LF than prop which is where we played him last season. Can play the full 80 mins.

Opinion on this board seemed mixed when he left us - I would have liked to keep him as a LF - but I don't make these decisions...

Re: Kenny Baker.  Always liked him Spelly. Decent hard working backrow who can put a shift in. Was gutted we let him go tbh . He will go well for your Lions mate . Good luck to him.

We have three pre-season friendlies lined up on 15/22/29 January.

The first is at home to Midlands, and the other two are "against Super League teams" so...........

I'm guessing they'll be the normal one with the Pinks, and the other with Saints, coz we've DRd with 'em.

I don't think anyone at the Lions is expecting an easy ride next term, coz we know it's gonna be tough back up there in the middle tier, but...........

Cautious optimism abounds, and anything better than third bottom will be a bonus!

Our opening league fixtures are Newcastle at home followed by Batley away, then we host the Raiders, before a trip (via Keswick) to 'Haven.

COME ON YOU LIONS!!!!!!

Spelly.
